Have read in the pub publications (or is that PUBlications?) this month that there is going to be an apple option of the Brothers cider available in retail and pubs (including ours) in the next few months this year ahead of the festival season.

primarily, theres their pear cider, good stuff.

they usually have at least 1, some times 2 of their other flavours, but lemon and strawberry might be there.

i think that all the cider they sell at glasto is 7% but i may be wrong

their all good, but having fallen in love with the stuff in 95 when it 1st hit, i find it a bit saccarine these days, and much prefer the burrowhill cider bus (on a cold evening i would recommend the warm, spiced cider with a shot of apple brandy to keep out the chill) and the cloudy cider served at the avalon and bimble inns

i will now get lynched by the brothers mafia :P

Morrisons sell Festy strength, and its currently £1 for a 500ml bottle.

I like the (festival strength) Lemon one, has a bit more bite than the normal one. never had more than one or two though, but that could just be because I dont tend to spend much time near TSFKAJ*

Oh good, a cider thread. Is my tipple of choice this year. Gone right off the various ales that fill me up too quickly with their too-often-not-tasty-enough taste. Never explored cider at Glasto though, that is, the real non-factory-fizzy stuff. Is there some at the Real Ale tent? Elswehere? Should I read the whole thread??

Edit: How did I forget The Cider Bus when posting the above? :P

question as I have an unwaivering loyalty to Burrow hill when at Glastonbury (even gave Mongrel one of my brothers tokens last year!)

Is there a decent bar selling other on tap ciders?

This me a bit of a veteran, but never really been a Glato bar person...

Tax on cider will not be introduced in parliament, unless Labour get back in. And even if they do, then it won't happen until 30 June.

The measure was lost in the wash up...this is when there's a couple of days to decide what will get passed before parliament is dissolved for election.

Woo hoo! :P

Nope - pear flavoured cider.

Reckon Brothers will go for round numbers at the festi to help with quick change processing for each punter, and although duty increase does not arrive until later in the year, they'll want to make their income quickly now before it does to offset that, especially at their No.1 outlet of the year where they must shift a good proportion of their stock which counts for a sizable proportion of their annual profit. I reckon it'll be £4 a pint then.

Can see more people bringing their own cheaper drink then this year. Myself - 5.5 gallons of homebrew is now bottled and standing by . . .
