Can't wait.

My U2 playlist has been copied and sent to many of my friends. I really should bung it on spotify.

They're my number 1 must-see this year, and with so many other acts I can't wait to see already 'TBC', that's quite an accolade.

I know it's from their most recent album but I reckon four opening chords to Breath are gonna be an epic start to the evening! :P

Yeah - I like Breathe. After several listens, there are a few decent songs on that album. I didn't like it to start with, but I like Breathe, Unknown Caller, Moment of Surrender and Magnificent. I can't Stand Get On Your Boots though. That's horrible.

Since they were confirmed, I've listened to a lot of their later stuff in preparation and I honestly think this era of their career has been harshly criticised.

Yeah I was listening to some of their older albums the other day and they are just quality. And I agree with get on your boots. Shite tune and just sounds like a rip off tbh. Magnificent is quality aswell :P

I don't really care what they play I just know we are in for a treat that night, and like Jay Z it will shut up and possibly convert all the haters :P

You know how I hate to disagree with people on here but.....I watched Jay Z that night and still hate him :P

I saw him even though I don't like that genre of music. Pleased he played, glad I went to see him but came away non the wiser after being shouted at for a couple of hours.

It was like being at home except I was being told off by a black rapper rather than my wife.

I can confirm that Ultra Violet is on my playlist. And as you may or may not know, my playlist is based on setlists they've done recently, with the most likely tracks all included (Angel of Harlem and Kite added because I like them, but neither have featured recently).

Therefore, it's likely they'll play it.

If in doubt - check the LW playlist.

Really really can't wait for U2. Never seen them before, so what a place to pop my U2 cherry. Songs i'd really like to hear are

Pride

Running to standstill

Where the streets have no name

Plus BB King coming out on stage with them to play Love comes to town

    • People seem to have got obsessed about 'secret sets' at all festivals this year even when there aren't any spaces other than, in EOTR's case, the usual late Folly sets that 90%+ of the time are from artists who are already playing. And if it is someone else, I'm sure it won't be a band who played the festival last year.
    • To be fair @Superscally barely mentions the running thing. Very quiet about it 😘
    • I guess we'll just have to wait until videos of the shows go up, but the fact that the standing is also greyed out still suggests to me that those sections just sold out out before the others and a blue block just be like 3 tickets left, it's still not concrete proof they never went on sale and if they were never on sale why would they not make it even, if 414 wasn't on sale then you'd think 409 wouldn't be either
    • Selfish, but I've done the 2 days I'm there.. i'll try to do the rest through the day but might get beaten to it as it's editable....    https://clashfinder.com/s/ape2026/
    • I don’t think the festival automatically ‘need’ to have a female headliner if you have strong female headliners on the Other Stage (which I reckon will be Rosalia and Phoebe Bridgers), perhaps a female legend (praying for Annie, will take Cher), and a few female/mix gendered subs on the Pyramid (maybe London Grammar, The xx). From what I’ve seen of Sabrina, her team prioritises the pay day and I think she will be doing Wembley over Glasto weekend.   One thing I’ve noticed is a lot of the suggestions would be first time headliners and I can’t work out when the last time was that the festival had three artists top the bill that hadn’t topped it before? It seems to be something they like to do to make sure they have a ‘safe’ headliner that will land well with the masses. Plenty of names in that hat that could step back up next summer and should/could be about: Billie Eilish, Adele, Foo Fighters, The Cure, Radiohead, U2…hell, if Beyoncé is really planning to release a ‘rock n roll’ album to complete her Renaissance trilogy, Glastonbury would be a great place to ‘kick off’ that campaign for her.   And there’s always the Rihanna rumour. Her husband (I think) said this week she’s in the studio.
