How can one week dictate so much of my free time

Glastonbury keeps me sane. It's the only time and place when I really chill and leave the stress of the 'real world' behind. I always liken it when explaining to people who haven't ever been that it's like stepping through the back of the wardrobe into Narnia. It's another world where for a week you can be whoever you want to be.

There's no point in worrying about anything 'back home' because there's nothing you can do about it.

I know I'm a totally different person from the one who first step foot in Glastonbury twelve years ago. It changed me in so many ways. Whilst not all of them have ended up being good for me, would I change any of it? Not in the slightest. I'd probably have a lot more money now and fewer "issues" - but I wouldn't be uber-excited over the fact that this year I'm taking my cousin who's like my little brother to the second most important place on earth to me*.

*And the first place isn't the house I've lived in since the day I was born.

Well, I've never been to anything quite like this and the entire upcoming trip is actually a huge undertaking for me. A leap into a week long experience that I can't exactly even visualize from across the pond.

But, since I decided to go and placed a deposit in October...

I've been pretty much here each day to check rumors and read up on advice...(so, I admit that I'm at least in the early stages of obsession.)

It's becoming one of the most planned "impulsive" acts that I've even undertaken...I still really have no idea exactly what I'll do or what to expect.

But, everyone here speaks so glowingly about it...I'm sure it will be amazing in ways that I can't get a handle on by simply guessing or reading what people here say. And, yes...a number of my friends are tired of hearing about it already... :P

If Glastonbury is wonderland, eFestivals is the looking glass . . .

Have been hitting this site near daily for something like 13 years now in an attempt just to provoke a fleeting memory or feeling of being there for real whilst I am not. As many say here, it keeps you sane, especially during the drudgery of work. Also, life's personally been on something of a downer over the last 6 or so months, and talk of Glasto always becomes much more of a crutch during such times. I guess once you have been there too, normal life can just seem so woefully uneventful and mundane.

If only we could just click our Cherry Red DM's together three times and be transported back there in a tornado of quality music, fizzy pear cider, the smell of cooking onions, and sunshine!

I too am a Glastoholic :P My name is misbehave and i'm a Glastoholic. Aaahh that feels better :P

This is the best place to be if you are that way inclined!! My non-glasto friends and family are sick of hearing me talk about little else. Thats why I love coming onto this forum and seeing so many similar stories, and people getting excited about the teeny tiniest of things Glasto related!!

Long live the looking glass :P
