There's plenty of time between 2nd to last and headliner so I'm sure it will be possible to miss Robbie and get a good spot for Stevie. Then again we never get too far in, just like a spot where the sound is good, can see a screen and we have a bit of space. Went to see Capdown at the Leftfield while BEP were playing then got in a good spot for Macca. Perfect.

I have a horrible feeling that this rumour will be true which will be very disappointing as I was seriously thinking of going to see Stevie, had been listening to his back catalogue, the guy is an undisputed musical genius.

However as has been said before, I will have to be as far away from the pyramid as possible when that short-arsed cock is on stage, and on the Sunday night it would be a real trauma to get back to the pyramid between the last two sets, never mind I just hope for decent entertainment elsewhere, sorry Stevie.

i know what your saying, but i really didnt want to have to 'work' on sunday - i wanted a lazy sunday topped off with Stevie.

and to be fair to BEP (which is VERY difficult) at least they write their own drivel!!

Let me get this straight - you're going to miss Stevie Wonder because you hate Robbie Williams? Makes perfect sense.

:P

That's really quite sad. Sorry, but it is.

Comparing an artist you hate to an artist someone else hates is a pointless excercise. Because I could just say 'Kasabian' and win the argument. In my eyes, of course. :P:P

PLENTY of things around at that time of night that you could do before catching Stevie. Get drunk at the Cider Bus. Go for a dump. Catch an act you've never heard of at a random stage.

Maybe the earlier part of the day will have acts close together on the bill you can 'laze around' whilst enjoying?

Before Sir Paul came on stage, I was enjoying the delights of The Rutles at the Acoustic Tent with a pint of Butcolme Gold in my hand (courtesy of the Red Flag).

you are of course right (except on kasabian- they fookin rock)

i have revised my issues, i will simply be at the JP while williams is 'singing' songs he didnt write, the walk from the JP to the pyramid isnt to bad at all. miss the bus and the redfalg but thats a sacrifice worth making to avoid williams

Or you could go to the Acoustic Stage, get some ale down you and walk through the market places to the cider bus, one quick pint as RW comes off stage before taking your place for Sir Stevie?

Or you could go to the Jazzworld area, get some Brothers down you and walk through the market places to the cider bus, one quick pint as RW comes off stage before taking your place for Sir Stevie?

Mate - the place is vast. But it's not so big that you have to sample an act you hate in order to see one you love. And that's the operative word Tugs - LOVE. Do things you love to set you up for Stevie. Which you'll love. You'll probably even love me during this time, because you'll be so full of love.

That's if he plays - everyone's getting their kecks in a twist and all you've got to go on so far is some random (soz OP, no offence meant :P ) saying he told them so.

Me? I'd love it, I want a big huge happy singalong a Sunday night, Robbie would get the crowd jumping ready for Stevie and it has the makings of a classic sing til your sick evening :P

dont take it too seriously mate

i am simply venting on here because in about 2 hours when i go for lunch with the OH she is going to lay down the law.

and that, will be the end of that :P

so all my venting here is simply a device to avoid a massive fight in the middle of costa coffee!! :P

Sorry but I'll be delighted if this is true.

In 98 we only went to see him get bottled off because we thought he was a moron, but he wasn't (bottled off that is - actually probably still a bit of a moron) and it still, against all odds, turned out to be one of my most brilliant Glastonbury memories.

I think it'd be a good singalong warm up for Stevie Wonder.

Actuually - not being in the pyramid field for the act before, allows you to be far more strategic in taking up your position for the next act, so the Robbie hating Stevie lovers needn't worry either!

    • Maybe hopeful but get Knocked Loose on the Sunday opposite the legend. Similar to the slot Turnstile had in 2022. Would be absolutely phenomenal.
    • One of my personal favourite bands at the minute - MUNA. Was very surprised not to see them booked in 2023 with their last album but hopefully they'll be around next year. Very fun new album from these guys and, as aforementioned, another standout for me at Big Weekend.
    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
