I absolutely vehemently despise awards ceremonies of any kind. Can't watch them without getting angry. Ridiculous overblown industry back slapping bollocks. f**k 'em all off I say, give the money to charity.

Today's top gossip:

Liam Gallagher was reportedly "livid" after seeing Robbie Williams chatting to his wife Nicole Appleton backstage at the Brit Awards last night (February 16). Williams and Appleton used to date before she met Gallagher, and the former Oasis frontman – who snubbed brother Noel in his acceptance speech at the awards – is seemingly still riled at the sight of them chatting. According to a source, the singer was so upset he started "pacing around" after hearing about the meeting (Daily Mirror).

Surely JLS will get a pre headline slot on the Pyramid now. They deserve it after getting all those awards for being so creative and inspiring to youngsters of any age everywhere.

i like the idea, true or otherwise, that he was so angry he paced around :P

rock stars just aren't what they used to be. Liam of old would have at least started a fight and come off worst.

Noel Gallagher said this in 2005:

Liam hasn't got a sense of humour, f**king full stop. Like with Peter Kay. If you're a northern guy about our age, all the reference points are spot on - you can't not like him. We were on the tour bus one night and somebody put [a] Peter Kay [DVD] on and I thought: 'This is going to be a f**king disaster.' There's a few Mancs in our crew and everyone was laughing their heads off. And Liam's just sat there going: 'He's a f**king fat c**t, f**king shit, f**king fat idiot.'

So he gets up to go to the bog and someone goes: 'Why doesn't he like Peter Kay?' Because he'd been to the NME Awards when Liam won a trophy for being hero of the year - and Liam wouldn't go up and f**king collect it. He had on this big white fur coat. So Peter Kay brought his trophy over to him and went 'Ere you are lad'. And as he walks off, he goes: 'Me mam's been looking for that coat.' f**king uproar! I was laughing like f**k.

Peter Kay 2 - 0 Liam Gallagher

Here's Liam's somewhat predictable comeback, via twitter:

I thought it was dire as ever. Fearne Cotton had more charisma than Peter Kay, and that's saying something. Don't see all the fuss about Liam though- what was everyone expecting?

I have to admit I liked Lady Gaga's performance though, even if she did look like a massive doily.

Margarita wotsername on Capital radio got interviewed on the ITV news today and she did have a bit of a vaguely correct point to make that this year's Brits did more or less offer a reasonable cross section of all that is popular at the moment eg. (Indie) Rock with Kasabian, R&B/Hiphop with Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, decent performances from the pretty popular Flo and Lily and Gaga, poptabulous shit from JLS and Cheryl Cole and something for the mums with Robbie.

It certainly didnt hit the mark in anything spectacular which was a shame. Yes it IS more or less a Smash Hits Poll Winners Party for the 21st Century and was very very meh and car crash but it covered most of the current mainstream corners of the music world in the UK at the mo.

The 30th anniversary stuff was pointless tho! And Peter Kay was terrible. My mate described him as a rabbit in headlights and he had already done his jokes on the Moyles show earlier that day apparently! Sam Fox would have done better! :P

    • I was hoping that they would just do a tour like they were set to in 2020, rather than having Download as their UK appearance. If they are at DL, I would be surprised to see them headline. I think they sub under Deftones or SOAD
    • well, we might know by the end of next month if they drop the lineup early again
    • I'm definitely not camping 🙂.  My 17 year old Daughter and her friends are there 3 days and commuting back to Sheffield each day as didn't want to camp .  I am taking and picking up the Saturday so thought I may as well get a ticket as love Fontaines DC - need to do a lot of research on the other acts though to fill my day.    I walked through the camp site other year the day Arctic Monkeys played and it was like a War Zone.  My Son has camped a couple of times but didn't fancy my Daughter staying over.
    • Not at all impressed with Polanski saying "noone should be barred from public life" wrt the Tory neo-nazi. I really don't think "no nazis in politics" should be an excessive standard.
