I love fancy dress,

but i shudder when I see somebody dressed in a so called 'posh' outfit **

It screams "I've no imagination, but hey i wear this shit because I'm trying to be different"

please think of something funny, interesting or original instead for fancy dress

dressing in posh stuff really make you look a total prick*** it's not in the slightest bit funny

Please, please, please, please use your imagination and do something more interesting than dressing in some standard shitty dress/ suit

**unless it's really interesting - such as the horse head people

*** in my opinion, (shouldn't need to say this)

I see what you mean, I think those little signs and stuff are so hilarious and beautifull sometimes. I'll think it over what I'll wear. Last year I had made a pretty Mary outfit with halo (I'm sorry is this an english word?) and all but it was to hot to wear...But if I understand the meaning of Posh I still think it's nice...

not really, very boring stuff. but if i want to try to do something different, i try and use my imagination not to go along with some boring shite

i'm not trying to troll this thread (i'll get board and won't post much soon) but seriously, it really makes me cringe when i see the so called 'posh' outfit. It screams no imagination

Don't be so bloody ridiculous, it's just a bit of fun to mark the celebrations and a bit tongue in cheek for the whole Glasto middle class thing. Most of us will be doing other themed outfits along the weekend but ffs you need to have a word.

Oh and by the way, please head down to the meet and let us see your hugely imaginative outfit - i'm sure we'll feel "not worthy" in your company :P

ANYONE wearing anything slightly different and out to have a good time gets a big smile from me...do get off your high horse...you're sounding like a twat.

there is a meet!! no shit!! can i come along in my martial arts outfit and pretend i'm special as well.

errr....... don't take this personally!!

let me explain in simply terms... i'm just one person who has just has basic (possibly wrong) ideas

if you look good and don;t dress in basic off the shelf boring outfit. i will be impressed(like you give a shit)

err just because am outfit doesn't (at glasto) belong doesn't make it acceptable. wearing boring outfit (ie my suits to glasto) does not make you interesting

people who have t shirts with witty comments on have more imagination then ppl with so called posh outfits on.

I'm sure ME and EE would be impressed with the 40th b'day celebrations with people dressed in the typical daily mail attire.

my oh my have times have changed from the 70's. from people going naked to protest about society and it's normality. to 2010 were peoples only idea to make a statement is to dress in well established joke costumes.

I'm I a twat? to you yes. and I'm glad? yes i am. to me to you the opposite of what Glastonbury festival stands for

*i'm drunk.. ignore the post above!!!!

I can see what Wweerr is going on about. If it was a "fancy dress meet" at Glasto and loads of people just turned up in a suit then yeah, no imagination. However this is a "posh meet" to celebrate the 40th Birthday of the festival and I'm sure there will be a range of costumes, from 18th century frock coats, through ball gowns and tuxedos to other more off the wall ideas.

Besides, having between 100 and 150 people (possibly) in varied posh outfits all dancing to Snoop will look pretty mint I reckon!

    • Orbital opening the Other stage is a bold choice!
    • Great start for them
    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
