you used to be able to spot a Mancunian by the fact that they supported City. Unfortunately this logic doesn't follow any more; i'm seeing the same growth in the number of City shirts in london as happened with Chelsea five years ago. Annoying.

Yeah my mums side of the family is from Manchester, they all city fans and have been for generations.

I hate plastic fans, I myself am completely neutral being a rugby fan(probably just as bad in most fans eyes haha)!

I use both. The former being used as a prefix for many things, festival orientated or not:

Talking about the festival - Glastobate

Shopping for camping gear - Glastobrowse

The noise of a very satisfying puddle - Glastosquelch

A 'pop a vein in your forehead' dump - Glastoclench

Knackered after a long night's drinking and/or dancing - Glastof**ked

Stubble on one's face after you forget to shave for a few days - Glastofuzz

Seeing the new model of Quechua tent made to house several large families - Glastoporn

etc, etc, etc

Surely people that have a problem with it being shortened to 'glasto' and call it 'glastonbury' are hypocrites!

They are shortening it themselves and there for should refer to it as 'Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts" at all times!

Glastonbury in talking, Glasto in writing as it is shorter! Although saying that when I sent a tweet to Emily Eavis last night I stopped myself typing 'Glasto'. Silly I know but it didn't seem right for some reason.

Whereas Glastonbury is the real name of the festival......
