Just spat tea all over my keyboard. :P

I know a guy who has claimed:

1. His sister was born with a tail.

2. He fell out of an airplane just after take off and bounced back up and onto the wing and got back in the plane because he was wearing Nike Air.

3. His Dad was a ninja.

A conversation overheard by me by some knowledgeable man up at the stone circle:

"These stones haven't always been here you know, they brought them from all areas of the UK and arranged them in this manner. They call it Stone Henge. It's very spiritual."

Oh dear - I really did see Zeppelin at Knebworth, AC/DC with Bon Scott (supporting the Who at Wembley Stadium) and I saw Queen in Hyde Park giving a free concert for the Queen's (Lizzie) silver jubilee. Mind you I can tell you who I went with to each of those and I wasn't 13 for any of them!

However I am not now, and never have been a ninja.

When I was at Primary school, I had a mate who used to commute from New York everyday where he lived down the street from the Ghostbusters house. Very easy to believe when you're 5 years old. Less easy to believe was when he claimed that he'd finished an F117A stealth fighter PC game and got a certificate he could print out to actually serve as a pilot in the proper real life airforce, we were around 12 years old at the time and took the opportunity to take the piss out of him, A LOT :P

I don't want to be nasty but this guy was American. An American with very typical 'knowledge' of the UK. I pointed out to him that this stone circle wasn't the one we called stone henge, and that stone henge was a little further away down the road. We got chatting and he asked where I was from, I said Manchester and he asked me what part of London Manchester was in

Once in and LA yha I met I guy who hawking his script round Hollywood trying to get it to film.

He told me it was a modern day Robin Hood film based around the quaint little market town of Leicester.

I tried to explain to him that he was a bit out on his description of Leicester and perhaps he should

consder a bit more research , but no !!!! he liked the name of Leicester and was having none of it.

:P

this makes me think. with the usual tradition of festivals being to make up people who've died when they haven't. do you think that someone at the festival last year went round telling people that michael jackson had died before it happened. then got high, found out he died and thought they had dark magical powers?

just saying

At the end of my first term on a teacher training course as a mature student our group went out for a Christmas meal. To pass the time we decided to play the Claim to Fame game where people each tell three claims to fame, two of which are true and one is false. The others then have to guess which is the false claim.

There was one woman on the couse that all the guys were a bit unsure of. She came over as incredibly straight, wore smart business suits, drove a BMW Z3 and was married to an accountant.

Her claims to fame were:

1) I had 3 in a bed sex with a man and another woman

2) I had 3 in a bed sex with two other men

3) When I was at college I was in a lesbian relationship.

She eventually admitted that the lesbian relationship was made up but the guys, and the Indian waiters who were listening in the background, were gobsmacked to realise that the first two claims were true. We never looked at her in quite the same way again!

Another one of the group's claim to fame was that she'd made love in a rowing boat in the middle of a local park lake. It was with the man who became her husband, who arrived at the restaurant to collect her later in the evening. When he walked in we all greeted him with a loud cheer. We knew what he'd done, but he didn't know that we knew what he'd done and was a bit puzzled by the round of applause till his wife explained. At which point he went bright red.

My two true claims to fame were that the film star Elizabeth Taylor made me a cup of tea and that Princess Anne told me to f*ck orff. It was the beatiful way that she pronounced orfff that I loved!

    • would be delighted to have that back given ive got sweet fa personally since the inception of new system
    • Used had one of the biggest crowds in the Wave last year. Not really my thing but enjoyed it and the crowd were bang up for it. Might be too much of a step up on the Main though.
    • Thing is it depends on what the issues are - building a bigger stage would likely bring the Pyramid up to the relatively standard 20x20 space for "on stage" production which does make it easier for touring setups. But if for example she wants big / complex extensions going out in the field (such as she had in Rio) that would remain just as awkward to achieve without massively disrupting the rest of the day or potentially even weekend.
    • A month or so before any ballot a group of up to six is registered and a lead booker named.  That gives see tickets time to check if any individual’s registration, post code  and details appears more than once on different groups and removed then on ticket allocation day tickets the groups are just randomly balloted.  It’s felt like a ballot in the last few years, just sitting staring at the dreaded two lines, glancing nervously at the clock as time passes. Maybe the f5 refresh gave you the sense that you were actually doing something 😊
    • or can we just have Metallica back please 😄
