You can also take the ferry from dover to calais and drive from there to hasselt. i dont know if that's faster for you.

I did that last year when i went to the uk

The first self confirmation is in - The Toy Dolls. They will be playing on Saturday 21st August and, based on their musical style, will probably be in the Shelter.

I can't confirm the source but an MC called Nomad has been touted as playing the same day on one of the Dutch forums. Upon investigation, it turns out that he regularly accompanies Joker on live dates :P I sent Joker a message on Twitter and he replied asking what date the festival was so hopefully he'll come back to say he'll be there. I fancy the organisers to devote a whole stage to Dubstep for the final day but if that is the case they will have to either use the Dance Hall or make the Chateau bigger. The crushes for Rusko and Magnetic Man last year were verging on dangerous so hopefully they've learnt their lesson and will put it right this time round.

So I wasn't gonna go this year, due to money problems, but I don't think I can miss it.

Last night I found out that Twin Atlantic may well be playing (they told me when I asked what festivals they were doing this summer). So I think I may just have to go. Pukkelpop's always amazing anyway.

Word on the local forums is that Fun Lovin Criminals have self confirmed. I can't quite work out the exact translation but it sounds as if they said they're playing after a concert or TV show tonight??

Got a message back from Joker which just said 'wicked' so not sure if that means he's playing or not :P

Following the Rockness news I've moved Leftfield to the top of my PP 2010 wish list. It'd be amazing to see them close out the Dance Hall on one of the nights :P

It's been a bit slow so far for the self-confirmations but another one has just come in. Renaissance Man will be playing on Saturday 21st. They're a House music production duo who have also remixed a few reasonably well known artists such as Delphic, Health and Brodinski. There's nothing on their myspace to suggest they play live so I would guess they'll have an early slot in the Boiler.

Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip have self confirmed but I don't know which day they'll be playing.

The official confirmation that Blink 182 will be playing Lowlands makes it very likely they'll also be at Pukkelpop, but we pretty much knew that anyway. I've got my fingers crossed that Plastikman will also play :P

I'm not sure about that, nerd is probably a more accurate description :P I've just had a look back through last years thread and the first announcement was on the 7th April. Whether that has any bearing on how they do things this year is anyone's guess but hopefully we'll hear something around that time again.

You'll have plenty of time to recover after Primavera so we'll have to try and meet up for a beer or two in Belgium. The Primavera line up is looking really good so you should see an excellent mix of music between that and Pukkelpop this summer :P

Hi all. Don't post on here v. often but would be great if you could help us out. Me and a few mates were planning to go Lowlands, but didn't pull our fingers out in getting tickets and it's now sold out! So now thinking about Pukkelpop, from what I understand they tend to get a pretty similar line-up to lowlands?

Just wondering how practical it would be to tie in a trip to Amsterdam? Have any of you done this before?

And also am i right in thinking you can't bring your own alcohol to the campsite, coz that's the impression I got from the Pukkelpop website!?

Any help much appreciated :P:P

Hi! Will be looking at this thread closely, thanks to everyone that has provided info so far, I have all the intention of going to Pukkelpop for the first time this year, all the way from Mexico! Already booked the ibis hotel, hopefully won't be too hard to get tickets, which leads me to a question I have..

do you have to buy the tickets directly on the festival website? do they send the tickets or is there an option to pick them up at some box office?

thanks!

You can get them posted to you but the best option will be to print the tickets out yourself. This is what I do each year and it's no hassle at all. Make sure though that you only buy tickets from the link that will be on the official website and nowhere else.

The 'pick 5 bands' thing is now also on the English language part of the website.

Sorry folks, but I went for:

A Silver Mt Zion

Mogwai

Spiritualized

Damo Suzuki

And some cnut that will remain nameless that I had to vote for for the wife.

    • Another note, if I didn't mention the food in the arena for main stage is right at the back. Bands wise they do very well for but as a festival so far they pros are outweighed quite heavily currently for me.
    • On another note for RIP as an event, there is some good things but there are so many things people going to UK festivals would hate and how far behind they are.  Consistent network and water, beer and pretzel like food is brought around to buy in the crowds. Topping up on the wristband is good. The camping and food arrangement is not good, you really need cooking kit. Water points inside the arena are bonkers, water points in camping are a faff unless you are close enough in general camp. Merch stands are crazy. You MASSIVELY need to think about your lidl shop for camping and try and do it so you've one stop. It's definitely worth it getting to a camping shop here, picking up a rolley between your mates and stacking it for the walk back....lidl is cheap though, not hard getting in but Thursday queues getting in and into the camping is mad. You have to register first for a wristband as well leaving any bigger bags behind so pull to a side if only two and do it separately. I was joining a WhatsApp group for solo camp so went with the flow but I've learnt. Had it been me or just two my tent would have been down much quicker.  Big final note, I got a fresh and black 3 man from decathlon before coming and put in bigger suitcase with my airbed and sleeping bag...do this. Take a smaller option for your clothes. If you go to Munich first, book your train to Nuremberg as far in advance as you can....very important!....it hikes crazy. Probably bettee overall for baggage sizes to do BA both ways but you do then need to go back to Munich after too. Use the B&B hotel hbf the night before....its very nice, comfortable, cheap and within 10 minutes of the station which also serves as a transport stop 15 minutes from the registration.  Get up literally like 5am with everything back the night before, shower and go. Transport is free anyway for festival ticket holders during the duration.  Would I just choose to travel in each day and back to a hotel?, on the basis of sleep and getting accommodation cheap enough for 3 nights i might just do especially if I picked the ticket up early enough. It doesn't feel like a festival in a normal sense....unless you are in general yoi have to exit on the paths outside the camping to walk down and in which also applies for getting water so have a stock up. Toilets are in the camping.
