I am not believing the hype around England this time, I don't think even under Capello we are as good as we make out, look at when we have come up against decent opposition with him in charge, we're not underestimating the small teams any more but we're still just ain't good enough to win against the bigger teams

England could definitely win the World Cup again...once you get to the knockout stages anything can happen...the best team doesn't always win...Obviously Spain will take some beating (though how many times have we said that at a world cup!)...after that, all of the other teams don't look invincible...don't know what the hell has happened to Argentina, Brazil look decent, but even with Kaka et al they are not a patch on some previous Brazillian teams...Holland fared much better at the Euros than most had hoped (I was living in Amsterdam at the time and everybody seemed genuinely shocked that they did so well) so who knows, could beat anybody on their day but enough to win?...and Italy despite the fact that we ran them close in qualifying have the ability to turn it on if they focus but still lack something, while Gernamy despite being written off are Gernamy and it's a world cup...enough said...but England have as good a chance as anybody if Spain don't steamroll all before them.

A good case could be made for many of the teams there and with the weather being in the South African winter it could give England a chance. Lets hope that all the English teams get knocked out of europe quickly and injuries are for other teams to worry about. (I am not wishing injuries on any other team)

If I can speak as an outsider looking in, England have a GREAT chance next summer. Best since 66.

Look at the team.

Keeper -

Cashley - Playing the best stuff of his career

Terry - Always solid

Rio - Pothole but may improve before next summer

Johnson - Playing great

J Cole - Always great

Gerrard - On form he is untouchable

Fatso - Always solid

Lennon - A right handful

Rooney - Is Rooney

Defoe? - Playing out of his skin

This with the best manager you've ever had

There is some serious threat out wide from the wings and full backs and Gerrard and Fatso are solid through the middle. Only Spain on top form can beat England methinks.

Piffle. Complete and total piffle. Of course we do - we have a good side, and an excellent manager.

Do I think we will? Nope. I reckon semis at best, but I wouldn't be amazed if we won the thing. People writing us off are doing so purely because it's England and do so without giving credit and due respect to Capello.

I don't think we'll win it purely because I think Brazil are that bit better than us, but catch them off-form on a one-off game, and who knows? Spain are a decent side who are capable of beating us, as are Holland and Italy, but there seems to be this bizarre feeling that Spain/Brazil/Italy etc don't see us as a threat. Well I beg to differ - we ARE a threat, and we're very capable of winning the thing.

We will need all our players to be on top form, we will need to stay injury free, and we will need a lot of luck. Name me any champions who haven't had at least two of these factors go their way.

A nice draw would be a good start.
