I agree with the point crimsonking is trying to make re bands that do sell out world tours. U2 do them about every 4 years or so...........Metallica are just constantly on one TBF............I dont personally think Metallica are bigger.

You're talking bands that would sell out a global multi Stadium tour (Wembley size), so I'm afraid that would rule out ...Take That and Robbie who's success is mainly British/Euro based.

Sigh....'Sick of the Studio' tour 2007, I was there at the sold out Wembley Stadium, not forgetting 2 nights at Sonisphere last year at Knebworth, ok not a stadium but 100,000 plus sell out.

can someone, perhaps neil, give us an idea of the percentage of people from the uk that make up the glasto audience?

I'd think it's in excess of 99%.

But that's merely a guess, based on the fact that I've never come into contact with more than a small handful or over-seas peeps (excluding Ireland) every year I've been.

Nope. I'm meeting no more non-UK peeps in the last few years than I was ten years ago.

But that might just be because of where I go and what I see, I'm not offering any guarantees that my experience reflects the fest in general.
