Sounds quality

Hi all,

I missed Glastonbury this year for the first time since 2000. Always enjoyed the festival and all the different goings on laid back vibe.

I decided to go to Glade festival this year instead... I just dont have time for all the pop acts these days. Cant really follow it all and there seems to be a lot more going on on the dance scene.

Although I would not rule out Glastonbury for future festivals I've decided not to go again next year. One of the main reasons being the poor poor quality of the sound systems and the crazy noise ristrictions on site.

Glade was quite simple one of the best weekends of my life... The sounds systems where all of perfect quality without being ridicolously loud... Has anyone else been but off going to Glastonbury because of the crap retrictions etc?

When I think back to the 2000 and all the make shift systems that cropped up seemingly randomly and just banged out all kinds of tunes all night... It all over now and it's all quite sad. Will Glastonbury ever return to these fun filled days?

You think its bad at Glastonbury then try going to Reading. We were in front of the speakers further back during Prodigy and the crowd were much louder than the sound. You could even speak to your friends it was so quiet. Although the atmosphere was immense so I'm not complaining :P

But yeah, the sound isn't great at Glastonbury. John Peel 2008 really ruined The Cribs for me :P

This year was the first glade I've missed since 2004 - and in the previous couple years the sound there had been awful. they had tomove site to turn it up at all, and by all accounts lost a certain "something" in the move - the old one was absolutely stunning.

On the other hand, I had no problems with sound at Glasto at all this year. But then I choose my "spot" at each stage in terms of proximity to main stacks/relays as opposed to whether I can see etc etc

I found the sound fine, thou the huge amount of cider intake might have blurred my senses. On a par with most festivals realy. If you want a good sound experience from your favourite band I'd see them at their own gig.

But I found Glasto fine this year tbh.

    • I wonder if he's going to get into the States for the second match against England. Seems a bit weird having players missing for certain matches but not others as the world cup moves around.
    • Quite lucky as I’ve no interest in Halsey at all so I’ve got time for some food and drink before getting in there.   But yeah… thinking I’ll have to leave early to get a decent spot for Gorillaz
