Yes it would, it would be shit. No rehearsals? Never gonna happen. And what about Jimmy Page? It was his band.

Bonzo is dead, so are Zeppelin. Sad but true.

Plant on his own and Plant & Krauss in the same weekend please. :P

i must have told you this story before :P

oh well, do love it.

mate of mine used to help run bray studios. seen tonnes of acts rehearse before going out on big tours - its got some of the best facilities in the country

so whenever an act id want to see was booked in my mate would let me know and blag me in for the day/night

Jimmy has a permanant lock up/vault there with about 30 of his guitars so when they came to rehearse for the O2 gig they did it there. got to see them do it for about 4 hours (must have played the whole set twice) with me, my mate and the manager of the studios nipping out of the hall (it's mahoosive) at regular intervals for weed and whiskey.

great night :P

Bastard.

Maybe you did tell me and I blocked it out!

Sounds like what heaven is like. Was Hendrix on harp during the breaks by any chance?

for what it's worth, the last time I saw Led Zep (Earl's Court), in all honesty, they were pretty boring... long drum solo (went to the bar for about 15 minutes at that point), long keyboard solo ( :P )...

some bits were good, but the Page and Plant shows a few years later were much better

I found a little Plant news today on Pollstar about his new band.

Popped over to his site and found some news.

For what it's worth, all these tour dates are after Glasto...

ROBERT PLANT AND THE BAND OF JOY TO TOUR U.S.A

26th March 2010

JULY SHOWS TO INCLUDE MATERIAL FROM NEW ROUNDER ALBUM

Burlington, MA – Robert Plant has confirmed a 12 city North American tour. Beginning in July, this 1st leg of shows which will be followed by further dates in the fall will preview material from a new album. Featuring a diverse group of musicians - Patty Griffin, vocals, Darrell Scott, multi instrumentalist/vocals, Byron House, Bass/Vocals, Marco Giovino, drums and percussion/vocals, including co-producer Buddy Miller, guitar/vocals. The album is set for release on Rounder, late summer/early fall.

Kicking off in Memphis on July 13th (see full tour schedule below) the tour will feature Plant and the ’Band of Joy’ - the same musicians who also appear and play on the album.

Says Plant: “It’s been a blast working on these new songs…and I’m enjoying such creativity and vitality. It’s been a remarkable change of direction for all of us and as a group we all seem to have developed a new groove.”

In recent weeks Plant has been in the studio working on the planned release, which will be his first since Raising Sand, the multi-platinum, 6-time Grammy® winning collaboration with fellow Rounder artist Alison Krauss. Krauss has most recently been recording with her longtime band Union Station, and will be touring with them this summer. The pair do not expect to announce a new album or tour in the coming year, though when asked about the collaboration, Plant says: “Oh yes, Alison and I get together quite often…and sometimes we dance.”

**On sale dates will vary throughout March & April. See below for ticket links and information to purchase.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
