Would be nice to see some Thursday actions...so

Also - headliner, and second in line listed - with a bit of a theme each day - rootsy dance on Thurs, Folky songs on Fri, Jazzy Dance on Saturday, Folky pop on Sunday.

ANyway - would be good to see all eight of these over the festival.

Thursday

Alabama 3/3 Daft Monkeys

Friday

Bellowhead/Show of Hands

Saturday

Red Snapper/Dreadzone

Sunday

Treacherous Orchestra/Levellers

Seen quite a few shouts for Dreadzone on here, but I can't remember the last time I saw them at Glastonbury in a headline slot as the live band.

They always seem to get an early evening slot in the dance village or Glade (or both), and then get a sound system set at a later time, last couple of years on the Arcadia stage, previously at the Glade and G stage.

For me it's not really a complete festival without seeing them in some guise over the weekend. I agree they'd blow the Jazz field away with a headline slot, and would love to see it happen.

Portishead

Boards of Canada (Performing Music has the right to Children)

TV on the Radio

Okay, so not the most jazzy selection.

I'd also like to see David Byrne there, possibly too big, or Lemon Jelly back from hiatus, or Flight of the Conchords would be a cool booking.

Edit - M.I.A would be quality too

On the subject of Show of Hands - they've got a new album out in the next few weeks. Looking forward to that.

Acoustic/Avalon Stage please. ;)

Rodrigo y Gabriella were superb at Glasto a couple of years ago. Like to see them back also Bonnie Raitt, who was awesome.

Also a great gypsy punk band called The Destroyers. Like Gogol Bordello but with real class. They played this year but I missed them and only caught them at another fest later.

Also King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys - great swing band in the Louis Prima style.

    • As someone that always likes looking at this stuff, compare the BBC opening titles...     ... and the ITV ones.     Tbf the BBC intro is better than the ones they used for the last World Cup, which I thought were pretty bad and on its own, the BBC choice actually isn't too bad. It's not as good as their pinball one for the last Euros, but the concept is reasonable. But let's be real, the ITV one is better.

    • Another new one from Overmono.   Album is shaping up nicely.
    • I'm only judging by highlights but considering that I saw a lot of anxieties from US fans about them getting it wrong after several bad results in the last year or so, they very much had it on opening night. Might be as much about Paraguay being a long way from the team that beat Brazil and Argentina in qualifying though.   Canada also doing something in a World Cup other than lose and arguably be good enough to have beaten Bosnia means reasonable start. Think they might regret not winning though.
