Who would I consider 'proven' headliners? Cept for Radiohead I would say the likes of (and this in no way represents who I would like to see - or even who I think will play for that matter!):

Muse

Coldplay

The Who

Arctic Monkeys

KOL

The Killers

Morrissey

Foo Fighters

That I can think of of the top of my head..

As I said I think Elbow would pull it off but I guess I'm just thinking of Neil's comments about the locals reaction when Muse headlined in 2004 (well when they were announced - not so much afterwards!) and I take that as they were wanting a more well known band and judging by some of my friends, colleagues etc they wouldn't consider Elbow that big.

Maybe if the other 2 headliners were more well known names then it wouldn't be an issue...

Agreed. Well, the Killers just spent the last two years playing every city and every festival in the world, as did Kings of Leon. And I know KOL is supposed to take a break next year, so maybe the Killers will too.

I just hope the Eavises (Eavii?) keep working on convincing Jarvis to get Pulp back together.

Looking at that list of suggested (speculative!) headliners above, I really can't see Morrissey being included realisticly -- he's had so many health scares and cancelled shows of late ...

Also, you just have to include Radiohead (subject of this thread!) on that 'realistic headliners' list, surely. I can't understand (whether people like them or not!) why their chances are being downgraded.

Unfortunately Coldplay seem realistic prospects too :P:P
