Yeah I feel pretty much the same, I guess it in between of the bad reviews and the over hyped ness of the set. (The screens were impressive, but the platforms moving up and down didn't really think it was necessary once they had made their entrance.)

I didn't mind the set, even those daft elevators, but just didn't feel that they connected with the crowd. Wembley, they seemed genuinely chuffed to be there and put their all into it, whereas the o2 - they seemed to be going through the motions a little. Saying that, I still danced like an idiot - and in comparison to the embarrassingly dreadful Big Pink they were superb. I guess it shows why they are possibly the best live band in the world... just not last Thursday!

about the only way to guess I reckon is via what other acts have done when they've played Wembley in September - and in all other cases that eFestivals has listed they've not done any festival dates the same summer. So I'd say that festival shows anywhere in the UK are probably unlikely.

They might

True, some people might want to see them twice.

But some won't. And so festival shows will impact on the sales for these stadium shows.

I'm sure they'll be some people reading this very thread who are thinking "I won't buy a ticket for these stadium shows just yet, I'll wait and see if they'll play the festivals I fancy going to first".

given the setlist they've been playing glad i didn't shell out £40. Apparently they're printing the setlist in the program each night as well, pretty much playing an identical set every night. Muse need a knock off their grand stage, and to remember that those first three albums are the reason they headlined glasto and broke through.

So on the resistance tour supporting their latest album you want a load of songs from Showbiz ? :P

To be honest, they played all the hits from the other albums apart from showbiz and some gigs even had cave or unintended and focused a bit more on the Resistance because that's the album there trying to promote atm.

I'm not going to lie, muse's earlier output (the first two albums) are always going to be leaps and bounds ahead, for me, of what they're putting out now (although i thought black holes was a return to form); that wasn't the reason for this though.

They've pretty much got oasis in reverse syndrome, everyone slated oasis for being a tribute act to themselves, always playing a lot off the first two albums in comparison to anything else. Muse are choosing to neglect their early stuff completely, which is ridiculous when they are the songs that put them up there in the first place.

It's kind of a similar predicament to radiohead, people complain they never "play the hits", difference is radiohead are keeping it fresh with a different set every night, and muse is now so planned the setlist is even printed in advance, it's just very disheartening

I think Muse have constrained themselves with their live set up on this tour. When they toured BH&R in arenas in Autumn/Winter 06 they changed the setlist up a lot each night, but as the stage sets have become more elaborate they've had to give themselves more rigidity in what they're going to play so as to fit with the stage.

Also, playing the old stuff wouldn't suit most of the crowd. At The O2 on Friday when they played Cave it seemed to get a very muted response, and that was from only a little way behind the pit. New Born also got a relatively poor reaction, and even Hysteria didn't get the whole crowd moving like it used to.
