Why don't they have Radiohead, Coldplay, and Muse and make it 3 for 3 bands who sound like Radiohead headlining.

(OK, they do different things with the influence, but the latter two are undoubtedly what you might term as post-Radiohead. It'd be like having Paul McCartney, Jeff Lynne and The Bootleg Beatles all on the same bill).

I agree 110% with this post. If we have to have one of the three bands mentioned, Radiohead alone will be fine. Otherwise glasto 2010 could become a snore-fest with all three playing :blink: i know Coldplay get a lot of stick (I wasn't overly impressed with them in 2005). But sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't get the whole hype around Muse...

Radiohead are quite clearly not boring, but like Muse and Coldplay they've headlined the Pyramid - and recently.

Can we have something new? Jay-Z was controversial, so something along those lines?

Or could Eavis pull off something spectacular like a David Gilmour / Roger Waters reunion? Could he persuade Led Zep?

Well first of all shame on you for going to see GlasVegas, I would'ent have expected anything less but I cant agree or understand how anyone can say Radiohead put on a boring live show.. guess its all down to personal preference/taste though really.

As for Thom's new band, they are mainly playing songs from The Eraser mixed up with a few of his new solo songs, which in my opinion is far less exciting than any of Radioheads stuff. So if you think Radiohead were one of the most boring bands you've ever seen, I'd steer way clear of the new band.

I for one really hope they are playing as;

A/ It'll be one less clash to worry about

B/ Means I can nip over to Shangri-la and spend some quality time without getting too crushed there whilst everyone else is watching Coldplay zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I'm affronted by the way the original poster groups Radiohead and Coldplay in the same category.

Radiohead are bona fide geniuses. Coldplay are dreary.

(Although I'm beginning to mellow towards Coldplay - there's a growing list of their songs that I don't mind too much)

    • The rumour was uk arena tour late this year.  Same as Charli xcx cant be announced until Reading headline is done.
    • Latest from the sun at least is that harry is still headlining but Olivia has turned down a spot next year to work on new music and hope for 2028.   So they can't have Fender, Fontaines, Harry, Olivia and Madonna.
    • I mean I don't think EC and FFDP are borderline sub, they wouldn't be any lower now.   2025 is about as strong as Bloodstock gets yet this year only one headline would sub and the others would play 3rd down or lower.    Machine Head wouldn't sub at Download regardless of rarity, they don't sell enough tickets and I'm not sure Gojira would sub either. Their last UK tour was a mix of smaller arenas and academy dates. Ally Pally being the only London date, not even Wembley Arena.
    • live music / main stage will generally end around 11pm but theres dj’s and late goings on right till 4am if you are so inclined.   Drinks are about £7.50 a pint probably and yes theres lots of mixed drinks / spirits / cocktails available to buy   wonderful festival, back for my third year in a row and 4th overall
    • If anyone sees Lakefest this weekend on any sites please post here, I’ve got alerts set. Been on TFG in recent years and not sold out yet.
