I don't really understand how people ended up buying only one ticket and yet are complaining about going alone.

If you want to go with someone specific, then you sort of need to try and book tickets together. And you have to be organised with registration and stuff. In recent history it's only been the last couple of years that Glasto has been easy for tickets.. prior to that, and for just about every other major festival, ticket buying is a bunfight.. you have to be prepared. And then of course it's the luck of the draw.

If it was clear on here that everyone who wanted tickets has got them and the phone lines and website had been quieter then I too might be suspicious of a 'sold out' banner. But today has been crazy and lots seem to have missed out.

So to me it sounds perfectly feasible that they have sold out today. That said, we know that more will come available when they sort out the duplications etc so keep the faith out there and good luck to those still trying.

It could also be seen the other way if everyone had got their tickets again not saying you are wrong

To be fair, even if you ARE organised and prepared there is no guarantee. But bearing in mind the history, the 40th birthday thing, the last few years of good weather, and normal festival ticket sales - the complacency thing was a bit stupid really. I was buying 4 tickets, one of the blokes is on holiday, one of the others didn't start trying until 11am then went out for lunch at 12.30, and the other gave up at 11.30 and drove 3 hours home - all of them thought it would be easy and were giving me lip for hassling them.. frankly they owe me lots of cider!

well I would have if she had registered in time, she was warned!

I was thinking that.

Too true. To make sure a group all gets tickets you have to plan. I had the money for everyones deposit in my bank account and all the reference numbers. Plan was I would try for an hour on my own, if I was not getting any where everyone else would start trying (obviously I trust them enough to let them have my bank details).

Its horrible for everyone who did not get tickets. Its happened to me in the past. Result every year since is to be up ready to start trying the minute they go on sale.

Good luck in the resales, if I see any I will post a thread on here.

will tickets be going on seetickets whenever someone gives back their deposit or will they do it in a big bunch?

I cant believe i have to do this again. Trying to grab a ticket days before 09 actually killed me, now i need to go through it all again....

Anyone going on there own don't worry you will have a blast my first Glastonbury I went by myself and it was great I done what I wanted and meet so many good people!!!

I've realized after reading this thread how lucky I was to get tickets especially seeing as my internet is very slow but then I was up very early and also had got myself totally organized with everyones reference numbers I don't think I'd trust any off my friends to get up and have the patience to sit looking at a screen that is constantly crashing!

    • Anyone had email yet?
    • See him doing either wilderness or the forest live shows more
    • I always fancied going to this one - it had my sort of lineup. Shame.
