Good afternoon and Happy 2010 to my beloved eFestivallers. Great to see some of the old regulars back in force for some serious WEATHERCHAT.

Looks like I'm late to the party this year... time to catch up!

All this talk of "unsettled" is utter fudgy bollocks. It's like when a politician doesn't know the answer and says, "the real issue here is...." before talking about something they've rehearsed in front of a mirror. Weathermen just say it will be "unsettled" which is code for "it's too early to day" or "f**k knows".

I sacrificed a young goat to the Sun God this morning at dawn and after careful examination of it's still warm entrails I can confidently predict that Glastonbury weekend will be hot, dry and sunny but may have a faint metallic/rust smell.

This is marvellous, a lot of regular faces appearing again at long last. Should have this thread over the 100 page mark in no time. Especially if the current forecasts continue as they are :P

which they wont of course

Hold your horses there mate,

You may have me confused with JameSemajj...........

He used Thom York as his Avatar and was a pain in his rain wanting posts..........

BTW my name is inspired from the fact that my name is Thomas and I like to think I can play the drums..........thank you very much sir!

:P

Don't worry buddy - I'll vouch for you.

TTD here is a fine, upstanding member of the efests community. With a hatred of rain, a strong desire for sun and a fairly awesome taste in music, we should be grateful he posts here.

(Just give me that fiver you offered at the meet, okay?)

Hi all, checking in for the first time since June 2009. Just had a quick recap of the last couple of pages. Doesn't look particularly good thus far. Time to fasten my seatbelt and enjoy the next four weeks of wailing, nashing of teeth, highs, lows, ups, downs and ultimately an over-riding feeling of weather-related dread and pessimism by the time I switch off my computer and get in the car on the morning of Wednesday June 23... :P

Found this on the BBC website. it gives some hope for the festival!!

Monday 7 June 2010 to Sunday 20 June 2010

High pressure builds to provide a drier spell

The northwesterly flow is expected to decline as high pressure builds from the west. Although still unsettled at first in northern and eastern parts, all areas are expected to become drier and more settled.

Near average temperatures are expected to rise above average in the south. rainfall will be below average although close to it in the north and east early in the period.

I'm pretty sure it will be hot now ive found out theres a full moon. The facts are when the moon is full you can see it which means there are no clouds which means no rain. simples..

I seem to remember someone saying last year that the weather of 4 weeks before is the weather we get. I can't remember whether this was proved correct or not last year, but this morning it's pissing down. Even in my house, I woke to that exact dreaded sound of steady rain on the roof of your tent - horrible!

Haven't seen this posted yet... from Metoffice:

UK Outlook for Saturday 12 Jun 2010 to Saturday 26 Jun 2010:

It is likely to remain unsettled at first with showery rain for much of the country. There should then be a trend towards higher pressure giving drier and brighter conditions. Many areas should see a good deal of sunshine and warm to very warm temperatures. Southern and western parts may see more in the way of rainfall with the possibility of some thundery weather, whilst northern and eastern regions should remain drier.

    • Cool, if potentially completely exhausting, idea.
    • We don't have any choice but I don't need a t-shirt for it! 🙂    On the bright side, it gets it out of the way for a nice 5 year run... notwithstanding wars, new contagious diseases and apocalypse.
