When I look back at Glastonbury 2010, from the comfort of an old, worn-out armchair, I will no doubt fondly sing a line or two of 'He's Misstra Know it All',shake my head at the antics of Jerry Dammers spatial aka orchestra, and chuckle about the day the taps ran dry, but I can't help thinking that memories of the Weather Thread 2010 will be up there with the best of it.

Just wanted to say thanks and good luck to all before we go Over The Top next week.

NO RAIN NO COMPROMISE.

As you were. :)

I will add that I've been in some pretty wet years (97,98,05,07...) and of course I'd prefer it to be dry, but forecasts are so changeable from one day to the next there's no point worrying until Tuesday tbh.

I'm fairly certain it wont be as bad as 2007 anyway.

This thread is hilarious, never have I seen grown men with so much sand in their vaginas over a weather forecast

The problem is - this is from the media. The media that thinks Glastonbury and mud go hand in hand. Well they don't.

They don't get it - they think 'ha! Look at them - all enjoying the mud - the true Glastonbury spirit in such appalling conditions.'

BOLLOCKS.

You want 'Glastonbury spirit'?! F**k the rain off, get the sun out, let the grass be dry and see the difference. I for one won't be a miserable bastard if it's sunny. I will if it's wet. And I'm not alone. Rain makes nice people become grumpy old sods almost instantaneously.

The 'Dunkirk spirit' is nothing but a myth. It's just that nice people go to Glasto. They're not cress seeds that need watering to act nice. And for f**ks sake - people DIED at Dunkirk. Hardly a cheery atmosphere, was it?!

Take my advice - if you see any stupid, smiling bint on telly asking about Glasto weather and saying - whilst smiling - 'so will they need their wellies?' SCREAM "f**k off!" at the telly.

If this c**tish low pressure won't get the message with plenty of humourless, fun photos, let's adopt a harder stance and be downright f**king RUDE to it.

No, No, NO! Please tell me this is all a terrible nightmare :(

I cannot and will not face another year like 2007. P*ss off low, we don't want you anywhere near our farm. Not this year and not any other year. So do us all a favour - bog off and boil your head!

Being going every year since 97 so I know just how much the weather makes/breaks the festival.

This is the only thread I am following, but I just can't take any more so will abstain and just look out for Mr Angwin's "local" words of wisdom.

the latest gfs is a shocker. a proper shocker. that's where all the gloom has come from. i'm not freaking out too much until JACKONE has spoken though. and even then i refuse to believe it unless it still looks bad on monday/tuesday and herr angwin agrees with it.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news..........

http://news.bbc.co.uk/local/somerset/hi/things_to_do/newsid_8744000/8744139.stm

The last few Glastonbury Festivals have seen a mixture of blazing sunshine or washed-out mayhem with heavy rain causing flooded tents and slippery mud. So what will this year be like?

BBC West weatherman Richard Angwin takes a look at the prospects for this year's Glastonbury Festival.

There is mixed news as far as the latest forecast for Glastonbury 2010 is concerned. It certainly look set to be a mainly dry picture in the run-up to the event.

A little rain is possible late this evening and overnight at Worthy Farm but this will barely dampen the ground. Thereafter it will be dry over the weekend and Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday should also remain dry.

Now for the bad news. Low pressure looks set to develop to the west of the UK later on Thursday. The big question is how quickly that will translate into showers across Somerset.

Currently, it looks as though Thursday will be dry but there could be some heavy showers (and brisk winds) on Friday and Saturday before pressure recovers and, hopefully, Sunday will be mainly dry.

So the advice is the usual - be prepared. Showers in late June can often be very heavy although at this stage there is nothing to suggest the torrential showers of previous years.

For now all I can see is the same thing everyone says every year. This year's Glastonbury will have some sun and some rain

I've put this through my patented bullshit translator © and it means:

"We dont have a clue so we'll edge our bets and promise a bit of everything; that way, much like a 'psychic' on Blackpool front, we have a very good chance of getting something right."

if this weather forecast malarkey doesn't start looking germanic, i may be forced to sacrifice my mate's bf. he always brings badness from the sky. he's a lovely bloke but i groaned when i heard he was coming this year. his only glastos are 04,05 and 07. 'nuff said. so if all this r*** bobbins comes off, he's getting tossed on a ceremonial bonfire at the stone circle to see if that appeases the gods. i'd sacrifice him sooner but he's one of our drivers! ;)

edit: i wonder if he maybe has french ancestry?
