BUMP.

Just been reading through the old weather thread from 2008. VERY amusing reading.

Soooooo.... when can we start with the metcheck readings?! Still too early?

Oh yes! People obsessing about weather before me! I made myself wait a whole extra month before logging on this year.

Those pictures of 05 actually gave me a flashback for a minute there - none of that business this year, I think it'll be the long awaited, totally dry Glasto (rain in preceding days to soften the ground though, and nothing in Tuesday night if that's when they're opening the car parks)

Not long now eh? I Cannae Wait!!

Hello!

I've just read this entire thread as I am fairly new to efestivals.

I would like to volunteer to have some wet weather next weekend, as I am moving house then.

My thoughts exactly!!

Its my birthday on 1st July and I'm more than happy for it to rain then too, if it means keeping it away from the end of June. It usually does rain on my birthday anyway!

And I'm more than happy to help :-)

This will be my third. I have already started to gather goats etc to sacrifice in order to ensure brilliant sunshine throughout the festival!

Crikey, third Glastonbury already. It really doesnt feel like it. I'm as excited as I was the first time!!

Our local pub sells goat curry.

Just thought i'd tell you!!

It will be sunny- I bought the stupidest big hat last year and I would like to get more use from it. Its like being in a tent!

I also have a vat of factor 50 I'd like to get through..... ;-)

Just make sure you take wellies, even though there is no sign of any rain whatsoever. Anyone who doesn't take them is risking the wrath of the weather gods for getting too confident and too cocky. The weather CAN turn very quickly. I was there in 2005 <shudders>.

Prepare for rain. Hope for sun.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
