I'm suprised more people don't know about his comments if they were that bad. I only really heard about it the other day from a topic on here but didn't know he went on for that long, what a c**t.

Utterly indefensable. Does seem out of keeping with a guy who's played on stage with black musicians though. Has he attempted to apologise or explain himself?

Edit: looking at that Wikipedia entry (which I'm well aware is not fact) it seems that his views on immigration are pretty right wing, but that he doesn't believe he is actually racist, and has said the colour of a persons skin doesn't bother him. He has tried to explain it away as a drunken rant. I guess 1976 was a long time ago, and views sympathetic to this were much more commonplace. Still comes across as an absolute tw@t.

He talked about it in some uncut feature a few years ago. Basically, he thinks powell was right, but was apolgetic for that rant, sayign he was drunk and was in the process of splitting up with his wife. He's also set up a number of charities in Jamaica i think to make amends?

I think his music's boring as f**k mind, just noodling guitar w*nk.
