This year is incredible, I'll be ecstatic even if there are no more bands announced that I want to see. In fact, it'd probably be a good thing, looking at the amount of clashes I'm going to have.

On the top of my CD player at the moment are BANCO DE GAIA, UNDERWORLD, KATE RUSBY,

ROY ORBISON and FOCUS. I don't expect ANY of those to appear at Larmer Tree Gardens, but I won't get 'huffy' about it.

I am endeavouring to put the other couple of thousand in alphabetical order - at last!

Now where do you put 10cc ???

Jim is certainly wishful thinking. Is he planning on ever playing live again? Was lucky enough to catch him at the QEII Hall in the Southbank Centre a few years back. Looking forward to his Baccarach (sp?) covers album that is due soon.

- plenty enough to keep me happy, plus I want time to chill out a bit, drink cider, talk rubbish, play Scrabble, listen to various people noodling on their guitars (I'm not talking about the bands there....), wander round the woods etc etc

Interestingly, Focus are playing at Weyfest in Surrey the weekend befor EOTR. Could be somebody's cup of tea.

This thread never struck me as particularly heavy. I don't foresee much in the way of toy/pram separation activity going on amongst those who post on here.

This thread was pretty light and fluffy until someone decided to troll it.

Are you going to EoTR by the way marooned? If so I'll buy you a hot cider and we can discuss further, while listening to one of the bands I haven't been listening to recently

its obviously been a strange couple of years for them booking wise, they've done so well with what you might call "second level bands" - horrible term but (as last year) there are at least 10 acts i could see being second on the main stage.

At the same time they've clearly struggled to get the headliners they really want - I don't think bringing Yo La Tengo back again would have been anything like their first choice - and I suspect it was the same with The Hold Steady.

But it was that huge swathe of really good acts that made last year so utterly brilliant and I strongly suspect it'll be the same this year.

I shall be so overjoyed if the third headliner is one of the 8 or so names that are swirling around my head at the moment - but if not, so what!

I'm personally happy they got Yo La Tengo back, having missed the previous EOTR they were at. And it was three years ago. Even Glastonbury has repeat headliners now and again.
