Who would have the cheek (geddit) to deny us the chance to hear these total classics at the 40th Birthday celebration?

Upside Down

I say Sunday night at a jam-packed/rip-roaring Jazz World. Grown men like me who should know better singing "We Are Family" at the top of their lungs at Glasto?!? Got to happen.

I dropped Chic - I Want Your Love, on my show today, giving a shout out to Wooderson and to Nile Rodgers.

You can listen to it again here (it's on part 2).

Hopefully theres an effort made by the festival this year for the GF nosh to be listed in the guide.

All my wife ate last year was baked spuds. Poor little lass!!!

If Chic play we'll have to organise something. Fingers crossed!?

I've posted in the GF thread re: other good options for Coeliac friendly food at Glasters.

Re: Chic - I was a bit premature when I posted that I'd see what I could do, as since then certain discussions have been going on that may have a bearing on the likelihood of this even being considered. Sorry for the crypticness but there's nothing I can go public about just yet ....

Theres a lot of half-promised beers on this forum every year - admittedly from me aswell.

However.

If Rodgers gets to play "Good Times" at Glastonbury Festival this year - i'm buying mate.

NEIL!

Do us all a favour & get "Nile Rodgers & CHIC" up on the rumours.

This is not a drill, people!!

    • I’ve said it elsewhere too but Emily Eavis said a 2028 headliner was booked, to me that’s only going to be someone the size of Oasis or Taylor Swift
    • Christ didn't even see that!
    • It does feel very bland. It would certainly spell another year (my third, I think) away from Pyramid headliners for me. That doesn't mean they aren't worthy, though. I don't follow what any of them are up to, as it isn't my thing. Good luck to them.   You would think coming off a fallow year, they would want one big hitter. 'Big hitter' is obviously open to debate, but that was/is Madonna. Let's have it right. The eggs have gone in that basket, and it seems (as far the rumours go) that it's blown up. So now you're left with another plan B/replacement headliner.   I'm still of the opinion that Oasis will do it, before the Oasis thing is all said and done. Probably 2028, if they can come to an agreement. It may transpire that 2027 is bland (or at least to some of us), and 2028 is a bit... wild.   Again, though, none of us categorically know ANY of the headliners, as it stands.
    • Second go.....    Still f**king fantastic - Well done WIlliam Orbit -  Bugman & Trimm Trabb mega tracks - No Distance Left To Run hauntingly Beautiful
