MUSE To headline glasto 2010?

I would love them to play and I think it's probably quite likely. I read that Matt Bellamy wants them to play T in the Park and they could realistically headline that and Glastonbury as I believe the Kings of Leon did in 2008?

On the other hand, V/Reading/Download or even Sonisphere might try and tempt them with cash.

I guess it all comes down to how strong the rest of the Glastonbury lineup is. If there are acts like U2, Bowie, Rolling Stones etc playing (Not that theres any real evidence for any of them) then It'd be hard to fit a huge but not legendary act like Muse in. The same goes for acts like Coldplay or maybe even Radiohead but they do have the prestige.

Two legends friday/saturday and then muse on the sunday? Bit like this year with blur would be cool.

I think muse are more about the show than the cash and I am sure if glasto offerered them a chance to put on a show they would and make a mighty fine set for it. Maybe Eavis will let them have their jetpacks that they can't do other places?

I think they'd play if they didn't get paid to be honest. I think the only problem would be if another festival throws cash at them and wants and an exclusive performance from them.

In fact, I think KoL were 2nd last on at T in 08.

The Verve headlined both festivals in 2008.

Never really got into Muse (for no real reason), but thinking on the singles I think I will invest in them.

Meh. I'd really prefer headliners who don't play a festival pretty much every year. This year's headliners were great, but I put Muse in the same category as Foo Fighters, Killers, Kings of Leon etc. They always play, I'd like some original booking. Don't get me wrong, I love all of those bands, but I'd prefer different ones.

U2 said they would love to play glasto but were busy around this years festival so they should end up at glasto next year if they arent too busy

one of the guys from the stones was there this year checking out the site and they are recording a new album atm so they should be touring round the time of glasto so they are still a posability

They've headlined all the big festivals before and sold out Wembley two nights in a row. I don't think anyone can deny that they're big enough to headline Glasto.

I think I'd agree with that. I am a big Muse fan and I'd no doubt enjoy a Muse set, but seeing a big act that I'd never seen before (Bowie or the Stones or someone) would be on another level.

They have also headlined Glastonbury before, 2004 sunday night Pyramid Stage. Bloody brilliant from what I remember!!! I agree that we need Glasto 'first timers' to headline next year, or at least someone that hasn't headlined before. I wouldn't moan if MUSE headlined, I'd be quite happy, but I'd like someone like the Stones, Led Zep (if it could ever happen), Pink Floyd (whats left of 'em, and again if it could ever happen). Bowie did it in 2000, but I wouldn't mind him.

I just don't want Radiohead, Coldplay, and The Killers, or headliners such as those. Don't want acts that have headlined too recently. I say The Smiths get back together for a one off set!!!
