Ones to watch...

Now this is a thread that does make sense in amongst all the angst about who should/could be playing with all the big names.

I for one would definitely go and check out King Blues and Temper Trap...but knowing our luck they will be clashing!

Sorry to put a damper on this thread but probably more of the same Here today gone tommorow indie bands who don't care about their music just there to make their quick grand then they will be forgotten about the year after that. See The Cribs or The Courteeners for a good example of one of those bands.

But In my opinion I think The Dears will be a one to look out foor becuase Missiles is a fantastic album.

Cheers,

'The Phantom Band'. Not new, but debut album was out earlier this year and is ace. Dark guitar sounds, a touch of krautrock and with a dirty brilliant drone like rythym driving them.... Hard to describe, give them a listen, especially if you like Nick Cave, Super Furries, Beta Band sort of stuff......Hopefully on a stage at Glastonbury 2010.

Another 'one to watch' is a new band called 'Django Django', another tricky one to describe (or I am rubbish at describing bands!) quite experimental and lively, the songs make me happy. It sounds good to me,I can't be the only one.

Anybody else see The Volt in the fluffy rock cafe, I think 8 or 9 'ish on the Wednesday. Fantastic fast dirty rock/blues played by a 4 piece who looked about 19. Maybe 100 in the audience, certainly grew as people came and stopped 'til the end. Bought their single there, which doesn't sound as good as the gig did, but they had serious promise.

And anybody who hasn't seen them should check out Biggles Wartime Band, been around for ages and 6 piece with a combined age of about 400, but simply awesome show of ridiculous oompah covers.
