This was my first Glasto and really had a fantastic time, hopefully will be going next year. Walked around alot of the site this year and was knackered by Thursday morning (he he he). Will be leaving Tuesday night to try and get there early Wednesday. park up and have a kip somewhere. Try not wear my wellies to much knackered the feet after a couple of days. Maybe stay late on the Monday rather than leaving at midnight on the Sunday and falling asleep at the wheel.

1 Make it to a e-fests meet (or two), and not be so shy and regret it afterwards

2 Explore more into the night, and not worry so much about sleeping

3 Get there first thing Wednesday to get two whole days just wandering without missing bands

not take the train, or at least take the train so i arrive before midday.

not take a pill at 3 am then let my mates tell me were all heading back for sleep 10 minutes later.

walk around at less of a pace and take in the things around me.

spend less time at the tent drinking and go off somewhere else to drink and see some acts.

book the tuesday after off work!

Actually go to the festival would be a start I suppose.

Go in the camper van and leave home on Tuesday night and find a local campsite to avoid the 9 hour journey on Wednesday, eat more in the green fields and leave it a while after the last band finishes before leaving site. Spend loads of time in the Park too, it was a great place to be

The wheels fell off mine in the car park. 35 quid trolley lasted 2 minutes with an 8 man tent and abot 80 cans on it.2008.

Travel by train via Taunton rather than via London. Arrival time's not that much different (provided the buses don't get stuck in the traffic again).

Camp more centrally (although after a week working at Leeds Festival, my mind's a blank for the Glasto site names - I can name the Leeds gates and locations off by heart at the moment though!) - 2008 was great near the Pyramid (Kidney Mead?), but last year was closer to Gate A / bus drop-off, and was too far away when coming back from late night wandering.

Stick with the Doc Martens - comfortable and stand up to the mud.

Take more spirits.

Take my own gear, so I feel less like a scrounger when one's being passed round and I have nothing to offer in return.

Carry less. Big time.

Not take any booze..to heavy, even with a proper sack truck,( ended up leaving lots behind anyway )

Carry one of those very small portable stools...not for infront of stages,just to sit on instead of the mud !!!!!

Yep, as above, arrive as early as possible on Wednesday to avoid queues and or Somerset Safaris through the back roads.

On arrival, actually see Michael Eavis in his jeep.

Take more spirits (have noted the Bailey's tip, nice!), fewer cans.

Some actual fancy dress.

Spend less time at the Pyramid, more time at smaller, weirder places.

Stay awake beyond 2am.

One thing I got right this year (after failing 5 previous Glasters) was getting up early morn to grab a paper. Didn't find much time to read it tho!

Not move house!

I have moved House the w/end before the festival for the last two years ( 07 was my first Pilton ) next year I don't have to, so I think that will make a huge difference in stress levels.

I'll not be looking after newbies next year, so the shackles (and gloves) will be off.

After Radiohead at Leeds (the best gig I have ever seen in 20 years of festival going!) I really hope they'll be playing.

For me their Leeds performance eclipsed their own legendary performances at Glastonbury '97, at V a few years ago and at Old Trafford last summer.

Also refreshing to be about 20 yards for Thom Yorke without fecking flags in the way (although I not usually a moaner about this contentious topic!)

Roll on the big-G next year: I'm sure they're nailed on for it although I'm not sure they'll top Leeds.
