oafc0000
Who made the call to put him on the Jazz World... The crowd was far too big for that stage!!! Probably the biggest crowd I have ever seen at the Jazz World...
Aragorn
yep, apparently they stopped people going into the field at one point
joelovesleeds!
Yeah I think that was a bad call. We got as far as the far corner of the field before deciding it was a waste of time. I don't know much about Tinariwen, who were on the Pyramid at the same time, but would I be right in saying they would be suited to the JW stage? If so, a switch between the two, given popularity, seemed common sense.
budvar
This always seemed likely to happen. I assume it's because the stages are booked separately. I don't think they'll make that mistake again.
scappaflow
all the lazy buggers with rows and rows of seats didn't fckin help. Really glad I made this as must have been close to getting blocked off at the gate they shut off. Edited June 29, 2009 by scappaflow

FunkyDenz
It was pretty crowded in the Jazz World Stage, but I did spot several people sitting down with chairs. Am sure some of them could have stood up and packed thei chair away, reducing the congestion. Rolf was bloody brilliant though. One of the highlights of the festival. NeilVJ
We tried to go but got stuck in a massive queue so gave up in the end. It was a case of nobody else very popular on and the jazz world was a pretty popular area to knock about during the day even when there was not much on. Alcatraz
Well went down with eFesters and we were at the back, which was probably a good thing. Left after a few songs but got caught in the crush. Nice work by the security to stop people coming in

ollyh
Should have swapped VV Brown (very small crowd) that morning on the pyramid for Rolf tbh, didn't get into the jazz world field until about 20 minutes into the set, by which time we had had enough of the crowds and left because it was just ridiculous. fatyeti24
Rolf raps! a couple of Brothers for breakie, then down the front! Edited July 9, 2009 by fatyeti24
TokiDoki
Definately should have been on the Pyramid Stage! Rolf mentioned himself that last time he played at Glasto 75,000 people turned up (not sure if this is exaggerated slightly...) but they probably could have seen it coming. commandlinegamer
I thought he had played the Pyramid Stage previously. I do remember in 98 and 00 he played in one the tents.

xploit
I was fairly near the front too, Rolf was great! I also wanted to go n see the Lancashire Hotpots after so started to leave just before Rolf ended - however caught his finale of tie me kangaroo down to the tune of land of hope and glory - that was class... Alexi
I agree - can't believe he wasn't on the pyramid stage but we were about 20 rows from the front and there was loads of space around us. We did get there 90 mins before he came on though! ps. loved the pavlova rap!
