Poppers

Surely not worse than a rogue batch of LSD that was allegedly around a while back, that gave you instant Parkinson's disease! That's pretty bad. I can't imagine how it's possible, but it's still bad!

They are supposed to be popular with the gay scene, yes! Also once Ainsley Harriot did an interview in Mixmag 9yes really!) where he said he once passed out at the back of Heaven after abusing the poppers! Can't stop won't stop!

#19 out of 20 in that harmfulness ranking that was published a couple of years back (Heroin and cocaine being #1 and 2).

I'd be surprised if they aren't fairly widely available but to fully comply with legislation they have redesigned child proof caps (good thing) and a new "recipe" (bad thing).

Poppers give a good rush, but it wears off after a minute, and can result in a head-ache, esp if overdone.

This thread has just reminded me that I bought some poppers at Glasto last year, and they leaked over my tent on the Sunday night. Not sure if they caused a headache or if it was the hangover.

Great, can you get glue on site! Joking

Poppers are rank they smell of sick and make your head hurt, even if you are on something else they are still nasty.

An anaesthetic this. Theoretically people should have massive differences in tolerance to this, I'm just interested, do some people get high on this and some not when they use it?

they've never done anything for me personally. the last time i tried them was 2 years ago in the syndicate in blackpool and i was so high before taking them that i didn't realise i was actually pouring most of the stuff over the dance floor. oops. the bottle wasn't mine either so the bloke wasn't best pleased.

won't bother with them.

they were banned at V last year because some twat drunk the contents of a bottle and died at V 2007 when they were sold at about every other stall (still found some at about the 100th stall of asking, under counter :D ) pretty rank but seems like fun at the time, also spilt a full bottle whilst sleeping in a zipped up tent, our mates had to wake us we slept so well/late, looked a bit sunburnt the next day even tho the sun hadn't been out all weekend! :D

I hate the stuff - gives me a mental headache and makes me feel a bit sick. I have mates who love it though. Funnily enough, I've always got sick atfter general anesthetic - could that be related? Sorry to make you work out of hours!

    • Generally shorter too, I imagine. 🙂
    • Will that work for arenas with seats? People will have their tickets on their phones and needs to find their seat.
    • Excellent new release from overpass today - well worth checking out.
    • Having lived here for 2 and a half years now my take is that security, safety and organisation are just not a priority in Spain. It's not even exclusive to festivals. It's a part of everything.   Simple example. I'm Irish and in Ireland if you assemble a construction site you have to adhere to a lot of regulations about cordoning off the site so nobody can enter and get injured. Here, you're walking down the foot path and suddenly without any warning you're in a construction site. If not, you'll suddenly find yourself directed onto the road to get around the construction.   Life is more laid back here in general. Pros and cons.
