Most of its been said already.

You are indeed a Prince among men for spending the time to do this & help us weave between stages.

In the words of Ken Kesey - (I am an old hippie git)

"If you're on the bus, and you get left behind, then you'll find it again. If you're off the bus in the first place — then it won't make a damn."

- You're definitely on the bus.

Ta muchly Halvin

I'm putting Neil Young over Doves (would love to see them, but a legend like Neil cannot be missed), Franz over Jarvis, and Blur over The Bunnymen (ouch, that one really hurts).

Better than previous years though, I usually steward but this year have bought a ticket, so have much more flexibility :D

Halvin, aside from offering a great deal of thanks I though I'd do my bit by picking a stage and checking some times for you. I'm working my way through the Avalon stage, but have only got as far as doing Friday so far (will try and do Saturday and Sunday tonight or tomorrow). You'll be please to know that you seem to have a better idea of what time acts are on than some of the acts themselves. Anyway, my research thus far:

Avalon Stage: Friday 26th June 2009:

The Mandibles - CF says 1300, their myspace page agrees - Halvin Wins!

Baskery - CF says 1420, their myspace page says 1300 which is clearly wrong. I have emailed their UK booking agent to ask for confirmation but have not yet heard back

3 Daft Monkeys - CF says 1540, nothing on their myspace or the bands website but I emailed them and they replied to confirm that they were starting at 1540

The Puppini Sisters - CF says 1700 - nothing on their website and could not find any contact info but left a post on their forums to ask. Their myspace says 2000 but I think that this is just the default time myspace sets a gig at if you don't enter a time - Beware of this anyone checking myspace!

Michael McGoldrick - CF says 1830 - 1900 . He does not seem to have a myspace, a website or anything else. I found the email address of a guy who worked for the record company that a group he was in recorded with to see if he could help but have not heard anything back

Orkestra Dek Sol - CF says 2000, their myspace says 1800 but their website says 2000

British Sea Power - CF says 2130, there are no times on their myspace or website. I have sent them an email to ask but have not yet received a responce

The Blockheads - CF says 2310 - 0030 - I emailed them and they replied very speedily with 2315-0025

So from that I conclude that you are some kind of witch and must be burnt as you seem to have almost everything spot on so far.

Some more times gleaned from myspace, this time for the Park. Obviously they are not all correct again as the Memory Band and M Ward are scheduled to play at the same time.

Nice one halvin. As always, now I've got clashfinder I'm beginning to feel that Glasto's just around the corner. Thanks for all your work

I've had a great idea for a finesse that would make it even more useful. Too late for this year, but maybe it's something someone more techy than me could think about for next year. Basically, alongside the basic clashfinder grid, you have an A-Z list of all the acts with hyperlinks to the grid itself. When you click on an act you want to see, the performance(s) is/are immediately highlighted in a coloured bar on the grid. You could refine it with different colours for 'can't miss' 'if possible' etc. Save a lot on highlighter pens and would make it easy to play around with options.

THEN ...... you could programme in the approximate walk times between stages so people could see whether they were likely to miss the start of a band, or whet time they'd need to leave a set to catch the start of someone else.

Better start now on next year's I reckon halvin
