Here's what they are currently sounding / looking like -

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/bigweekend/2009/artists/gossip/

Was lucky enough to get tickets for the sunday in the ballot as one of the reasons was wanted to watch Gossip (along with White Lies as Prodigy will be on at same time as them) as won't be able to see them at Reading due to watching AM (most likely) - have to say they were really good and love their new 'disco/dance' sounding material..should be able to watch the video in that link for one or two more days

Prodigy were also f'ing amazing last Sunday power cut and all...but that's another thing altogether

I really don't get the argument that they aren't big enough to headline the NME stage. They'll have their fourth record out next month (though, unfortunately, I doubt it will have that garage-rawk sound of their early releases), along with three EPs. They're a much more established act than Klaxons or The View were when they both headlined in 2007. Plus the fact it's well-known they put on a, let's say, interesting live show.

I'm not a big fan or anything, couldn't name you many songs to be honest, but put up against the Arctic Monkeys or Rise Against? The Gossip everytime.

I think I'm one of the few who actually like The Gossip, really enjoyed their set in 2007.

Still don't understand why they would be headlining though, I'd rather have them on the main stage again in a similar position.

As it stands I'll be finishing my Saturday with them all the same, not interested in Artic Monkeys or Rise Against.

This thread is going to send me into therapy. Beth Ditto looks like a younger fatter version of my mother. DR FREUD?! YOU THERE?!

And yes, Gossip are big, especially with teens as it was used on the trailer for Skins. That one song was harrassing parties for months after that.

Load of pish IMO, there first album is rubbish and I don't expext the new album to be any better.

They don't even have a large fanbase to attract people, an odd decision from the organisers.

If it wasn't for the Soulwax remix of Standing In The Way Of Control they'd be nowhere.
