Brand New sell out the bigger venues cos they don't come over to England often, and they have hardcore fans who will travel to see them, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a fair few people going to all 3 shows...

If Brand New did a full UK tour I'd expect them to be playing 800-1000 sorta capacity venues... but because of who they are, they don't have to do a full tour... whereas Gossip don't have a fanbase that'll drive several hours to see them, but if they're played a small local venue, would get a decent crowd because someone who's heard their song on the radio will say 'oo, I like that song they've got, might be a decent night and go with their mates', hell, I'm tempted to travel down to London to see Brand New on my own! Whereas I don't think anyone would do that for Gossip...

It's hard to compare, they're two very different bands with two very different sort of fanbases...

Agreed I would say that barnd new have a more hardcore and loyal fanbase and are able to convert a higher proprtion of people who buy their albums to pay for their gigs. However in a festival where the majority of people are not fans of either band i would say the gossip are a bigger draw because despite only having one hit thats one more hit than brand new.

It came from someone who went to the AGM where Melvyn Benn has supposed to have said that he had spent the most ever on an NME headliner who was un-named American band,

2 + 2 = The Offspring. It actually was true what was said on here but it just turned out to be Faith No More rather than the assumed Offspring.
