Firstly, Thurston Moore has said that they would love to play Glastonbury

Secondly, someone on the reading and leeds forum has said that they "know" someone on sound for glastonbury and he said that they are playing the other stage. This could be nothing though. it's on page 3 of that thread.

And Thirdly, they have a new album out this June (the 9th to be precise) and have said they are doing festivals.

So does anyone else think they could play the Other stage and if so, could they be a headliner. I think if they are playing they would be headlining the other stage.

Could the other stage headliners be - Friday - Sonic Youth, Saturday - Franz Ferdinand, Sunday - Kanye West.

Sonic Youth would be fantastic on Friday but cause a real clash and probably add to the Old Lineup crap from people who either should know better because they've actually been to a few gigs over the years or don't know better because they haven't (in which case they are excused due to a lack of education). Throw in Mudhoney on the under card and I'll be setting up camp come Friday lunch!

Also, so far we have 2 young other stage headliners, I think Sonic Youth are a good band to balance it out.

I don't think sonic youth have the appeal these day to headline other. best they could do would be to headline the JP tent. if they played other I'd imagine it'd be somewhere middle to upper half

That would be an better show than Panic aswell! They are a dreadfull, dreadfull band. As for sonic youth: I would give my left limb and several other arteries to see them live, it would be amazing. I hope they headline on the friday night becase if they did I would be right up front to see these guys! I wouldn't give an arse if they goign a crowd of 20 people because they are my favourite band of all time!

Cheers,

Sonic Youth are cool with us young 'uns because they sell their t-shirts in Urban Outfitters... Lee Ranaldo did a song with The Cribs too which is how I got into them. They wouldn't headline though.

    • The first half of that game was cracking but then I fell asleep at half time. Maybe that's just the momentum of things.

    • A win is a win but it was a very poor game with only 4 shots on target in the whole game. Scotland obviously handed a massive bonus with Brazil and Morocco drawing but I don't think either of them will be too worried.
