Probably be a band Ive never heard of, Pete Doherty or one of the many libertines impersinators and someone like Funeral for a Friend as a misguided attempt to bring back some rock fans...

Megadeth would be ideal for an Arctic Monkeys alternative but will never happen.

YYY's are too big surely. Last time I saw them at Reading they were pretty high on the main stage.

Glasvegas are a shoe in but agree, their sets are short. Bloc Party + Maximo Park both headlined nme stage on 1 album in previous years.

I'd be very suprised if it is the Cure, they are too big despite last album.

It can't be Elbow if they are playing V this year.

Hopefully, whoever headlines doesn't make me think too much about missing the headliners on the main stage.

I reckon a bad the size of Cure could headline it this year as the festival has to look at the competition from the main stage and as these bands are probably three of the biggest in Britain at the minute and the Radio 1 tent's size was increased last year a bigger band could definitely be got.

Historically, NME Headliners are usually bands that would play 4th/5th from top Main Stage. Still doubting Glasvegas are big enough, although neither were the view

I agree mainly but I would say that Manics last year would have been able to play 2nd/3rd on the main stage.

I'm praying for Biffy Clyro to headline NME, preferably when Arctic Monkeys headline main stage. Then again if Biffy just play crap from Puzzle and no older tunes I would just go and see Arctic Monkeys instead.

I do agree the Cure would be fantastic although they would pack the tent out to the max. I think Biffy Clyro/The Cure/Glasvegas would be nice as long as Biffy and The Cure didn't clash with Radiohead. I write Biffy more in hope than expectation
