WEATHER 2009 !

The forecasts remind me of 2005 when the weathermen couldn't seem to make their minds up what the weather was going to do. It was scorching on the Thursday, and then the 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse turned up on Friday morning ;)

Fingers crossed though, its going to be a good 'un!

Radio Wales earlier today interviewed someone performing in the circus area - the forecaster gave her a glasto forecast and mentioned that on the whole it was ok with a few possibly heavy showers on Friday.

But the amount forecast at its worst (I don't think) is as much as fell Thursday night last year (hopefully).

It's really hit and miss at the moment - we may pick up a shower we may totally miss out.

Lets keep thinking positive.

Nothing gets me in the mood for Glasto like this tread - and yet every year it seems to be the same,

I think, when taking account of extremes of optimism and pessimism the message coming through is that it will rain at some point, and will turn muddy at some point; but then thats just Glastonbury.

The thing I found about last year was that while it was mostly frym, it was pretty cold and windy - that seems different this year. I'm about 20 mins from the site at the mo, and it is pretty muggy, has been for a couple of days.

As for mud - mixed emotions, it can be depressing, but then it also acts as a unifying common enemy and improves the spirit on site. I also always like to look at this clip which was posted on here a few years back....

Right you horrible lot. I'm off to stay at a friends for the evening before we hit the road tomorrow morning. Keep up the good work, still time for things to turn around considerably IMO. It's been emotional :(

Hi all.

I couldn't resist. Only 162 pages? A measely weather thread. Didn't we hit 250+ last year?

LW's official prediction? You're going to have a good year weather wise. There - I've said it.

Suncream is currently wrapped in my gore-tex jacket at the top of my rucksack so I'm sorted - all bases covered. Ony 2hrs 20 mins left in work, nip home, chippy, load car then off to Michaelwood Services for a kip and an early start.

I can almost smell the cider :(B):D

Richard Angwin just been on Points West.

In relation to Worthy Farm, he said :-

Wed dry, sunny & warm.

Thu dry and warm, a bit cloudier than Wed.

Then possibility of some heavy thundery showers on Friday into Saturday, then clear for rest of the weekend. So at least Sunday looking good.

    • We head out in the morning. Couple of nights in New York then up to Boston. Enjoy the games lads and hopefully we get some great football to take our minds off the whole shitshow off the pitch.
    • White Stripes/QotSA at Harewood 2007, Tramlines (and Blue Dot, same weekend) in '23, and Elbow at Jodrell Bank '13.
    • Yeah exactly, the shock moments, group layouts, etc all end up playing out differently once you get into the tournament. However you tweak it, you don't predict shocks.
