This might be a totally un-do-able......but, can anyone find what these forecasters were predicting at similar times before the previous few festivals and how accurate they turned out to be?

Long shot I know but would be quite interesting!

I think...... :D

I know what you mean, but surely one farm can have too much rain and mud can't it! This could be our year people, don't give up now when its looking so promising.

I just had a look at the 2007 weather thread, and they were forecasting plenty of rain about this far in advance. I recall we left for the festival expecting rain too...

2008 no one could make their mind up. I remember leaving on the Wednesday expecting a shower on Friday... and we all know what happened on the Thursday.

From here on in, I'm going to be VERY interested in this thread.

metcheck uses the GFS models, every 6 hours the GFS will produce another weather run based on new data, there are 10 different outcomes that result from these runs. The 00Z ( 12am run) is not a good run for us and shows rain and a fair bit of it - fortunately the other 7 or 8 runs are distinctly better. So its fair to say on this run the chance of a wetter festival is less likely.

the next run is at 6am, then one at 12pm then at 6pm. This is why metcheck etc change their forecast regularly

aye, the 00z run is wet as hell. but is a massive outlier, with all the other runs going for a pretty much dry festival.

NW should have the 06 run soon, so hopefully it will be a good operational run.

From the BBC Monthly Outlook

Monday 22 June 2009 to Sunday 05 July 2009

“Little change.”

As we head towards July, early indications show that high pressure will remain across southern parts with the highest temperatures to be found in south-east England.

Northern parts of the UK will probably see more wet weather. However, there are expected to be some clear spells, which could mean that night-time temperatures in the north-west fall below the seasonal average.
