with the news that Kasabian are playing saturday evening i now have everything crossed for a saturday night performance from Doves

kasabian will finish up about 9pm due the ridiculous set length time the boss is being given, giving plenty of time for a short hop to the JP for Doves to finish out the saturday in style

what a great day that would be for me. :P

Don't know anyone fron oop norf heading down. Bloody annoyed they didn't include Aberdeen in the tour but pretty used to bands thinking the UK ends at a line between Edinburgh and Glasgow :O

Soon be Brixton time

I'm listening again. As I've done for years. Difference was then, for most of those years, I thought it was just me. Wallowing in all those rich tunes. Just some weirdo still listening to some band I'd picked up on late... surely everyone else had moved on of course? Lost in my own little Doves world many a night.

I am SO looking forward to May 1st... never seen them (properly)... a good five years of awe here, about to be unleashed.

I'm way too old to need peer-validation, but this whole thread makes me smile. They *are* that good... it's not just me. ;)

    • Brazil's first half was genuinely dreadful all round, not just the midfield, so they're absolutely not bulletproof. Whether Scotland have the quality to take advantage is a different question.   Tbf, that's as much on Morocco looking good, which I did think was a possibility. They could be a bit annoyed with themselves not to have scored more before Vini's goal tbh.
    • Surely nowadays with so much data analytics available on every division in world football and so much awareness that people aren't suckered in on the basis of a decent World Cup game... right?   Although tbf, from what I saw, Australia's game plan worked very well. But that was as much thanks to Turkey blowing varying opportunities given they created enough chances but couldn't finish, a la what happened with Switzerland against Qatar when they really could and should've won by 3/4 goals.
    • I missed Viagra Boys for a good spot for Gorillaz. Was a nice weekend and festival for me. Would definitely come back, if the line up is right. Get back home safe everyone.
    • The Last Temptation - new Heaven 17 documentary film directed by James Strong. Premiered at Sheffield Docfest this weekend.    I really enjoyed it. Affectionate, insightful, and honest. A nice mix of archival and footage, interviews and clips from the last tour. Martyn and Glenn are like an old married couple.   Plus a snippet of news from the Q&A, Martyn is recording new BEF material, and Phil Oakey has collaborated on the one of tracks. The film shows them meeting in Fagans for the first time in over 35 years.
    • Glad I’ve still got it booked off for my 50th
