Doves

This weeks nme, in the album preview sections, says that the Doves are playing.

That would be good. Haven't seen Doves for a few years, and never in a festival setting.

Saw them at their last Glasto and they were brilliant. Popped into see them a fortnight later at T with the intention of watching 15 mins then heading off. Again they were so good I stayed.

Hope they do play this year

I always thought that the Doves would be great to Headline. i know they are maybe not a "big" enough band but with their songs it would make one hell of a show!

I know they wont be headlining but be great to see them again

The new album will be their 4th so they've got the songs to headline, maybe the other stage or even JP.

Just a brilliant live band and a must see if they're playing

i really hope their playing. they have been awesome all 3 times ive seen them at glasto.

i caught them at oxford and the festival hall last year where they previewed some of the new stuuf and it was damn fine. and the set they dropped there was easily good enough to take on the other stage headline spot, again

Saw them in 2005 at V & they were incredible, absolutely loved it

Their new album is the one i'm most looking forward to this year, should be out before glasto comes round too - excellent!!

i wouldnt put em on the JP too big for that (even having been away for so long).

Having said that, again because theyve been away for so long probably missed the boat on a headline other stage slot. but the sunset gig would do. just imagine the sun just dipping below the horizon (fingers crossed ), the sky turning a brilliant hue of orange and pink, and Doves dropping There Goes The Fear.

Got to say, they would be perfect to play Neil Young in to his headline slot (If it is him). Or even in 3rd spot like last time on the Pyramid, just catching the sun (Think it was before the White Stripes?).

And with a bit of Pear cider in hand of course

The more I think about it, with 4 albums in and a first class live reputation, can't see any problem with Doves headlining the Other Stage.

Might be a headliner for John Peel I suppose but not much of a 'new' band.

I'd love to see Doves at Glasto, preferably a sunset slot. That would be mint.

Please don't let them clash with Springsteen.
