I think a taxi from Cologne-Bonn would be at least double as much as from Koblenz, so that really isn't advisable. Beer is sold on side, but only by the can, not in a crate. Price should be around .75€. per can, maybe more.

I'd advise on getting a train to Koblenz, stocking up at a supermarket there and either taking a taxi from there, or if, you arrive on wednesday or later, taking the shuttle bus.

I am talking about really cheap and bad beer sold in mobile supermarkets at the camping. And not a pint but .33l.

I may well be wrong and they could cost as much as 2€. I would not be surprised honestly, it is much cheaper to buy them at a supermarket beforehand.

In the venue a beer was 3 or 4 € if I remember correctly.

you're not allowed to bring any drinks to the concert area. I don't think the closes camping grounds have any, so it would be probably a walk of at least 30 min, so it would only be worth it if you'd have a lot of bands you don't want to see at some point of time.

For your day walking over the camping it makes sense to bring a sixpack per person from Koblenz.

Taxi's are a bit of a pisstake in Germany from what i discovered last year. On the way the Taxi charged us per person, more people more cost but fair enough just not used to that in england. The BIG pisstake was on the way back they charged me and my 3 mates like 30 euros each THEN picked up 6 other people from a different campsite and charged them the same people were lying on the floor there wasnt any seats. lol

Looks like we can definitley rule Franz Ferdinand out. They've posted all their summer dates on their website - heres the dates for the start of June:

Monday, 1st June 2009

Pinkpop, Holland

Friday, 5th June 2009

Poland, Krakaw, Blonia Park

Friday, 19th June 2009

Hurricane Festival, Germany

Bit of a shame as I think they are a good festival band and I would have liked to see them but hey ho.

Haha, the walk to Adenau is much longer than 30 mins! We were camped as close as you could be, and it took us 4 hours (admittedly cos we went the wrong way) but I reckon it'd take about an hour if you went the right way... Mullenbach is about 5/10 minutes away from C and has a small Spar-type store... not gonna be cheap as LIDL but will be cheaper than getting them on site... it also had a chiller...

I've said it before and I'll say it again... LIMP f**kIN BIZKIT!

Didn't Lamb Of God self-confirm on myspace, same as Madness?

I can't imagine we'll see another band announcement for another few weeks. Guess it all depends on a certain ginger dreadlocked dude and whther he decides to take his band on tour this summer (the drummer seems to think they're doing something...)

If you look at past lineups it could be argued that last year there were extraordinary many punk bands (Offspring, Bad religion). This year looks okay so far though with Flogging Molly. Hurricane is usually the festival in Germany that brings on more punk bands, and Area 4 in August.

    • A question has crossed my (questionable) mind;   Has the size of the Green Fields remained the same as other areas have expanded / been added on to, since say, 2014 (the last time that I attended)? Are they 'lost' within, or well attended?    That's actually two questions. The second one just slipped in at the end by taking advantage of my lack of means to stop it.
    • I'd say the same about Kylie.    Annie would be awesome, Duran not so much, and on the issue of them wanting a beanie slot, that probably rules out a fair few others who I think would fit the bill very well... and are legitimately more entitled to a headline, and/or too expensive.   Was just about to suggest Chaka Khan, but see @Gnomicide has beat me to it!    What about someone like Bryan Ferry?
    • It's certainly gone more that way, but then they went completely in the opposite direction and had Cat Stevens.
    • Chaka can, or Chaka can't?
    • TVOD are playing Blue Basement in London 2/9 with a complete EOTR/Psych Fest shaped hole before their next gig in Lyon on 8/9. Well received in the Big Top last year, reckon they're nailed on for a secret set in the Tipi.
