I watched The Darjeling Limited on saturday. I was really looking forward to it after reading nothing but good reviews when it was released but I thought it was fairly dissapointing. It wasn't dreadful by any means, and there were some funny bits but it just didn't work for me.

I watched:

Lucky number slevin...um how good was the ending to that flick? - totally surprised me

Rescue Dawn: Christian Bale is very good in it, and was a good film.

Ferris Buelers day off..need I say more? brilliant film!

Ghostbusters 2...hell yes!

Silent hill....bit dissapointing

I stuck around late last night for the "Flight of the Phoenix" remake. What a load of Tosh!

It just made me realise what a Screen presence Jimmy Stewart had. The remake was completley pointless and inferior in every way. 3/10

watched "complete history of my sexual failures" and "pineapple express" last night.

the former's pretty funny in places, it's a documentary about some guy trying to work out why his love life has been so unsuccessful by going back and interviewing all his ex's. some of it's played for comedic effect but it's a worth a watch definitely. 7/10

pineapple express was alright, enjoyable enough. seth rogen, james franco and gary cole were all quite fun in it and it had it's moments but it wasn't 7.7 material like it's got on imdb. 7/10 from me.

also, up to the final 2 episodes of the west wing which is an easy 10/10....the debate in season 7 between the two presidential candidates, which they performed live (twice, both for east coast and west) was stunningly brilliant. Gonna watch the remaining two tonight.

Spent last night watching crap films (well - not really - I like them)

The first was Team America - Fall about laughing and singing along

Second was Star Trek: First Contact - shouted "ASSIMILATE THIS" along with Worf as I think everyone does - then felt weird as I'm reading a book set after Nemesis and confused myself... such is life

Third was Thunderbirds - silly winding down film as I had the Commentary from Jonathan Frakes and kept shouting "Will RIKER" at the telly - then I went upstairs and kept Radar awake by texting him!

    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
    • Keep in mind those crowds were full of teenagers. Glasto aint full of teenagers. Theres no way she could demand headline and get it because they got other acts to give the slot to who deserve it with a bigger catalog. Reading/Leeds would headline her cause its still LN.  If the fest was struggling its Other headline. But a 3rd down Pyramid is likely the landing spot. Itll go down like the Camila Cabello performance pretty much.
