I'm aware of this. I think one of the first books I ever read was the Famous Five and something to do with a smugglers cove. I was thinking specifically about the Comic Strip episode "Five go mad in Dorset"

Did you see that Russel Brand is up for a role in the next Pirates of the Carribean film, btw?

Did it look like it would be anything but utter shit?

I don't understand why they keep choosing games that were originally concieved due to being derivative in the first place. Max Payne was basically wanting to be the game of The Matrix, with the bullet time stuff that was still cool at the time before it was done to death. But they couldn't use The Matrix license so it was just derived.

Some goes for Metal Gear, which is derived from every action film ever made from Terminator to Escape From LA to James Bond. People still seem to want a Metal gear film but it's stupid. It'd be as stupid as a Halo film.

Or they make games of fighting games like Mortal Kombat or games that have almost no story at all (Mario).

Or they take ones with good stories and f*ck with them until they become some sort of hideous f*ckup (Resident Evil).

Making movies of these games makes NO sense.

I watched In Bruges last night. It was ok but I got really annoyed when

the older bloke threw himself off the building after being shot in the neck and STILL managed to raise his head up to talk to the younger bloke, tell him that Harry had come and tell him to grab his gun!!

Also, the

yeah he done well to survive being shot and jumping off the building, yeah the kid was the dwarf

but not really sure why that bit is a spolier?

I thought it was a brilliant film, one of the best i've seen this year, i've watched it over and over and never got bored of it

Yeah but saying the dwarf dressed as a schoolboy doesn't give any of the film away at all

:O

Anyway, I think that was the whole point of the film though, the sheer stupidity of it, like the scene on the stairs in the hotel near the end, that was just silly, but very funny

In Bruges is an excellent film, love it.

Went to see 'What Just Happened' two nights back at a preview. Really disappointed with it.

Steaming in at a big fat 8/10 on IMDB after nearly a thousand votes when i checked yesterday.

I think the whole irony of the film passed me by, or at least it didn't capture me.

Bruce Willis was excellent as 'himself' though.

    • I did get a little amusement at the idea that Infantino was upset Trump stood him up for the US opener last night given how hard he's been trying to get in his good books.   Tbf, I thought the Canadian roar at their equaliser was decent volume. Or maybe I just had my phone at a higher volume for it when I watched the highlights this morning.
    • Wonder if they’d ever headline Glasto again.  Would be very different a 2nd time around I reckon.
    • My mate is there now. She enjoyed them a lot but had never seen them before. Apparently there was an injury in the crowd near the end so took about 10 or so minutes to sort out. Hope the person is alright.    Feeder apparently drew a ridiculously huge crowd on the third stage.
    • This was never a surprise.   I'm hoping USA meet and lose to Iran in round of 16, just to really wind up Trump.
    • Watched this this morning -  absolute brilliance -  live show is peaking
