Yes. I thought it was very poor.

Nice scenery. Some nice dialogue. But as an American take on fate and circumstance, I thought it was dishonest, contrived and obvious. The symbolism and reference seemed to be a pretentious after thought.

Reading Empire there's some good films I wanna watch soon.

Eden Lake (couple go on holiday and get terrorised by hoodie yoofs - think This Is England type stuff)

Rocknrolla (new Guy Ritchie film)

Pineapple Express (stoner comedy that actually looks funny)

The Wave (German school that experiments with the idea of a Nazi-like dictatorship that takes over the place, causes all sorts of trouble)

The Foot Fist Way (low budget comedy)

The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas (German kid befriends concentration camp Jewish kid)

Ghost Town (new Ricky Gervais film)

And there's Quantum Of Solace too.

There are some films that look a bit shit too - Tropic Thunder: can't be arsed. Ben Stiller doing Ben Stiller stuff and Jack Black yelling a bit. Taken - some shitty Liam Neeson action movie. Death Race - goes full circle of macho and lands in 'actually very gay'.

    • I'd assume he's out of the nominal price range, but... stranger things have happened. Bit Marmite, isn't he, though?
    • Know that it isn't unheard of for a band to headline Glastonbury - for I assume that is all Fontaines would accept now - and play their own stadium/outdoor shows in the same summer, but it feels unusual for British/Irish acts, no?
    • Is anyone attending the Morcheeba/Faithless gig(s) on 10th? Our flight time has been brought forward slightly and, although I can't imagine we'd get there in time for Morcheeba, I think Faithless is doable.
    • I Was There the last time Kyie appeared to do this - 2018ish at APE.  What a treat.  What do you think of the current setlist? Am seeing him next Friday, all being well.
    • I havnt even seen the booking page since 2018 i think, its been absolutely brutal - prior to that i was 'the fella with the knack of sorting out everyone's tickets' cos i'd lead with the groups and the organisation of it all, and tended to be the first one through and sorting out a great swathe of us, and now i'm a know-nothing bum again 😄
