  1. Are you flying into Bristol? If it's about being able to take things on the plane - a friend of mine is ordering some things to an amazon locker near the train station.
  2. I mean, the dogs don't actually pull them. That would be a spectacle worth sticking around for. Give them a good sniff. You know the drill...
  3. Wednesday shuttle is super regular, and runs whenever there are trains running. You just join the queue as soon as you get off the train. I can't even remember getting on the shuttle properly, its that mundane. From hazy recollection, there's normally a couple already stationed there and I think I've pretty much got straight on. Biggest issue I've ever seen is sniffer dogs pulling people out the crowds there!
  4. Aaah this is a fab blog, thank you so much for bringing to everyone's attention. I really loved this one, got a bit teary eyed - Glastonbury – All the help you’ll ever need! – (andybarrow.co.uk). I have had a bit of a rough weekend with my own disability, and started worrying a bit about Glastonbury. Your post reminded me of this and re-read it all and feeling zen again!
  5. I love this guy and his video! I have watched it at least 20 times haha. That's fairly normal. Maybe a bit more space cause they're nearest the fence to spread out but you'd be able to do that no problem. Just tell the stewards you're popping up X tents, awning etc and they'll make sure to leave you space.
  6. I have camped all over the site, from right by the New Bands Tent as it was then (John Peel now) to over by the late night areas. Apart from a few years at Park Home, I don't think I've ever stopped in the same area. I'd get a sense check from your group on what you're really into, based on the excellent info above. There's lots of mythology about the best place to camp but really, I've never camped anywhere that didn't have pros and cons - apart from the one year I went with the group from hell and they insisted on camping immediately as they got in from the car park as far away from everything as we could be. Otherwise I would say: - If you drink, and you like spirits, bring those over beers. You can always buy mixers on site and its just better ratio in your luggage to beers. - Sack truck on the coach can be risky. It does happen but as tents have gotten bigger and bigger over the years, I've also seen trucks full of beer left on the roadside. All luck of the drawer. - Bring way more socks that you think you need, and then some more.
  7. We went the very first weekend, and lots changed after too, so very possible both things are true. But WP was meant to be more sedate. I wasn't meant to forget things like I do with Glastonbury 🙄🤣
  8. I never get broody for cutesie kid things, only when someone says their kids are a good laugh! 😄 Hope you all have a cracking time! I am certain any teacher will be totally understanding of the amazing experience.
  9. I am pretty sure it was open because I think we walked through it? But now I am doubting myself!
  10. I would queue at Gate A. Usually, they prioritise public transport entry so you'll get in quicker. Plus, D will be full of all sorts of overnighters queueing!
  11. Mixing pop and politics? They ask him what the use is!
  12. I think it must be Higher State of Consciousness by Josh Wink. I feel like its on everywhere after a certain time, and nothing sounds more like a festival in the middle of the summer to me either.
  13. Would look fantastic on a fancy camper. You're now going to have to explain to my OH why I keep sending her UFO themed number plates for our space themed van though! I've already blamed efests... 👽
  14. I didn't add a farmers carry, but I also restructured my gym routine for a strong run in to Glastonbury. Starting the long walks program as well!
  15. Are you in your camper? If so, take a range of options. I'll be taking my higher walking boots for if its really bad on the ground, my walking shoes for general, some optimistic walking sandals and a very old tatty pair of trainers. My comfy flip flops for the morning when I'm making breakfast back at camp. My number on tip for in the van - I'll be packing my golden bag (it wont be golden - it will be a Dudley Zoo drawstring bag which might be even better). An entirely clean pair of clothes, including my super comfy trainers. When I get off site Monday, I'll pull into a services, have a quick van wash and get changed into them. Sheer luxury.
  16. Convo on the weekend as I was drafting my first packing list. "20 pairs of socks? Is that for both of us?" "No" 🤣
  17. I hope you have an AMAZING time! I shall be sending you positive vibes all week - and I mean literally there's a Healing Field which is often where I find myself having wandered when I need to recharge.
  18. Off for a short motorway run in the van this weekend to head to a wedding. Taking the van not the car cause its MORE FUN.
  19. @blutarsky thanks for pointing me this way. How did I forget this thread existed - I've already posted in it 😂. I swear, COVID has done a number on my memory... Here's our pride and joy at a naked Pyramid stage. Got the projector in, a new JetBoil to go with our gas cooker so we can make a speedy cuppa. Won a solar power battery set from Jackery in the summer so we should be all set and ready to go! Anyone got any ritual stops on the way down or up or indeed across to the farm? We'll be doing our bougie services stop at Gloucester as is required and then off to Burns the Bakers for some buns before heading on site.
  20. Outdoor Revolution? What an awning! Got ours for £100 from a lovely guy. Just bought an enormous Khyam Sleeper but definitely keeping this little guy.
  21. Bowie. Being front row for REM in 1999. Still probably the most overwhelming evening of my life! Elliott Smith in the New Bands Tent Going up to see MIA open the Park stage officially in 2007, but then she never turned up. Lily Allen stepped in and I was really put out but also knackered after a day of rain and mud so thought I would just stay. She was brilliant, I was a complete convert. Public Enemy playing to a tiny (esp. by their standards) crowd during The Rolling Stones and definitely one of my best ever gigs at Glastonbury. Snoop Dogg in the sunshine Definitely Leonard Cohen Amy Winehouse That ridiculous back to back you can only get at Glastonbury of a career defining Bruce Springsteen set on a Saturday and then 24 hours later THAT Blur set. Just so many when you start listing them!
  22. It's wild how things that seemed very normal now have full nostalgia around them. I used to work a cash in hand weekend job during college. Two weeks before Glasto, cash from boss, walked into HMV opposite our shop and bought my ticket. Week before, cash in pocket, spending money!
  23. Lots of chats about Bath and West, and East. How West used to be better etc etc, but no one is paying the van tax! Let's see some photos of the vans and caravans you're taking to the festival! Bonus points if they're set up on the farm... Here's our pride and joy at Worthy Pastures. We got her years ago with the intent to take her to Glastonbury but never managed it until this year!
