  1. I lost my mom in September. Really hope the Glastonbury gods align to let me hear this, which she loved: and then I'm going to absolutely hyperventilate when I hear THIS: LET'S GO GIRLS!!!! My new year's resolution was that I was going to manifest Shania Twain playing at Glastonbury, and I did this by playing LETS GO GIRLS, just that little intro, every morning. MANIFESTED!
  2. I have a new garage cause I moved. He's great, but he asks questions my old garage didn't, because they were used to me and accepted my special interests. Perhaps initially rhetorical, like: "You want to repair THIS?!" 🤣
  3. Campervanners - do you have any special spots you like to visit on the way up/across/down?! We're heading in from London for the first time ever. Usually I stop at Gloucester services. Any campervan friendly spots on the way from the east?!
  4. Paid £800 🤢 for my camper to pass its MOT. Fingers crossed they can do all the work and TOMORROW SHE RIDES AGAIN.
  5. UNREAL recommendation! Shaken in the cocktail shaker, in the novelty martini glasses (plastics). Getting packed in the cool box, thanks for the suggestion.
  6. GREAT INTEL. Thank you. I'm going to go and take a little walk to M&S after tea to stock up on your recommendation!
  7. Please update on the duvalay setup. I have looked at them intensely for weeks at a time then never gone for one.
  8. I'll take their rumours AND their weather!
  9. Recommend and a great deal atm: Trekmates Cairngorm Gore-Tex Gaiter (outdooraction.co.uk) Never ended up using them at Glastonbury but have used them elsewhere and they're fab.
  10. Heard Daft Punk were playing on the spider
  11. I went to see them in 1999, I think on the other stage. I was surprised my greebo friend came with me. She was more surprised and furious. She thought I said I was going to see Cold play.
  12. I took a long break in the 10s after having been pretty much every year since the late 90s, save for when I missed out on tickets. I knew on the Saturday I needed to take some time off and wouldn't be back for a few years. So, partly I'm saying - you'll know when you're there so don't overthink it too much. When I knew that, basically I did the things that were super special for me. I sat for a long time in a chai tea tipi, I hung out at the stone circle, I stayed up late and regretted it... Have an absolute blast, and never say never! It's not right for you right now but who knows what your future might bring!!
  13. Are you planning to drink from it? I probably wouldn't use the water tank in a hire van but then I milton my water containers for the van before any single trip so I might be a bit OTT. Also echo the water/antifreeze risk at a garage. I'd probably disinfect the tank in advance then fill at home, as it shouldn't massively affect your payload or fuel efficiency. If you're intent on filling up closer to site, depending on the size of your van and navigating it, you'll never not find a tap at a cemetery.
  14. I think the Moth Pina Colada is the best Pina Colada I've found in a can yet! We're on the lookout for a quality Espresso Martini so if anyone has any suggestions we will suffer testing them!! Found the Moth one a bit fumey so might end up mixing and taking our own in a plastic bottle - although I'm toying with brewing a fresh one for the novelty.
  15. We tested the Moth cosmo at the same time - it was a tiny bit cheaper but not a patch on the Whitebox! Got some more Moth ones to try next time we get through the cans. A very tough process but one that must be done...
  16. A great question. They were all great. Classic Cosmo Ready to Serve Cocktail | Whitebox Cocktails This was exceptional. 11/10. I didn't even know I liked a cosmo. Clapton Craft x Whitebox x Pensador | Mezcal Margarita Also very very good. Both of these will be travelling to Glastonbury with us! Apparently, if you're into a dirty martini this is excellent too Whitebox Cocktails | Tiny Tee's Dirty Martini – Clapton Craft Next week is freezing and defrosting to see how some pina coladas travel!
  17. Tuesday is lovely for the atmosphere and sleeping off the drive if you did the slog, but I wouldn't worry too much in terms of distance. We arrived Wednesday midday and we were in E17 which must have been one of the furthest back fields. They fill in a horseshoe, so you can end up closer turning up after. Your advantage is traffic - which is much lighter Weds morning and afternoon. My tips would be - you aren't going to spend MUCH time at camp, that far off site, so do whatever it you need to do to maximise what having a van brings you. We went back once a day if that, because sometimes we'd traipse back to the van and decide to stay in and have an early night for an early start. If you want to go Tuesday, and you can pull it off, it IS great. There's a lovely atmosphere watching the sun set. You can see over site. You can get a decent sleep in before waking up and heading on site while everyone else is slogging their way in with bags. It's a very decent warm up!
  18. Went to Dunelm. Bought three ridiculous chairs for camp. Bought a selection of tinned cocktails to test what will make the lineup at our tiki bar, following last week's ice experiments with the coolboxes. Also bought some plastic marg glasses. Drank some of those cocktails.
  19. Dead easy journey - 3 and a half hours tops if there's no major traffic issues. Leaves next to the Hippodrome not the National Express station (which is better, dead central). I usually do brum to Glastonbury in 4 hours including a stop at Gloucester. Leaving from London for the first time ever this year so will have to make a new ritual!
  20. Genuine Q - where are you parking in London for £6 a day don't leave us without the details!!
  21. and I'll be listening to your podcast tonight!
  22. There's no special pass to go into the campervan fields so don't worry about that! The pass is only for the vehicle, and any festival goers can enter and exit the campervan fields. you'll be grand! Make sure you get them to bring your beers 😄
  23. Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006 states in section 15 what an employers' liabilities are, which is what makes it legal. List A is detailed here on gov.uk website: Employers' right to work checklist - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk). List A, item 1, states passport - current or expired.
  24. Oddly I remember this one as well! It was definitely named New Bands Tent in 1999 and 2000, but it might have been that for three or so years and no more. It definitely programmed new bands intentionally around that time because I was working at a booking agency in London, which was responsible for programming the Acoustic stage in its entirety. They were also approached by the festival to program some of their new bands from their roster into New Bands - I think it must have been held centrally? New Bands Tent | Performing Glastonbury (vam.ac.uk) I don't know if it stopped that after then or if that was just those couple of years??
