  1. From Worthy Pastures obviously, not a festival year but got to be our camper next to the Pyramid.
  2. I don't have one of these - but I am howling that this thread has 24 pages. Every one I see at Glastonbury I'm gonna be like - ahuh, efester... Get Decathlon down here right now Neil and claim your sponsorship money!!! 😂
  3. Oh no, it was a bloody brilliant year. I wouldn't change being there in the slightest. Just the trenchfoot haha. It rained, without stopping, from like 9pm on the Thursday night until the day we left. Every so often there would be the tiniest break in the rain. For 10 minutes. You'd be like - ok we can do this. Then it rained again. Constantly. By Friday PM I was wearing a full waterproof bodysuit. Every morning you woke up, is it.... yes. It's raining. I can still feel the feeling in my feet as I put my wellies on when I think about it. Never had a Glastonbury before it or after it the same. So much has changed about drainage on the site I'd hope we won't.
  4. There is nothing less controversial that this. It would be more controversial to say Michael Eavis is a nice man. 2016 was a delight compared to 2007. The BBC ran an article shortly after about trench foot at the festival - something I remember due to getting trench foot. Won't be able to sleep now 😂 2000 was absolutely amazing, line up wise. Elliott Smith and Bowie stand out in my mind but I'm sure I saw a lot more that was brilliant. More people should be saying 2010 - by far my best Glastonbury for the atmosphere, the weather, the whole setup. It was sweet. I would say 1995. That was the year I really knew Glastonbury existed and was absolutely agog about it. Surprised people aren't saying 1997. In my memory that was an absolutely epic year. That Radiohead set was world changing.
  5. It was Thursday, wandering over to see The Levellers (I think??) on Leftfield in 2007, after two glorious days of sunshine, that I uttered the immortal words, "you know, it could rain all weekend in from now and I'd still be happy". I was not happy. 15 years. It's still brought up.
  6. I will hear nothing against the unbelievable night life of the festival, couldn't agree more. Spend your time there, see things, have fun THEN if you must see sunset from the stones, head up there in time. Sat on damp grass, nos going off every nanosecond? Not for me 😄
  7. Just bought some reduced Timberland Garrisons to go with my more hardcore walking boots, as obviously its gonna be a scorcher so need something a bit lighter on the feet!
  8. Hard to argue with this 😄
  9. That's a lot of research from not knowing who he was 6 hours ago. I suppose its a Bank Holiday 😄 I clicked on the blog expecting to eyeroll at it but tbh I thought it was even handed and fair. Seems a better deal has been found for this year!
  10. It's a week long, you have to sleep at some time!

    Drug Testing on Entry

There's a certain hubris in telling the Head of Security of the most established festival in the world that they are wrong about drugs policy cause of your experience in a local Sainsbury's. Really interesting insight into how the festival is approaching drugs management tho.
  12. We have a food plan from Sunday - Weds, cause we're in early for working. After that ALL STALLS ALL THE TIME. But the workers deserve Pizza in those prep days, I say. I'll add eFests Pizza Party as another pro for the pizza oven.
  13. OMG I LOVE THIS. Ours is coming together - less expenses needed and more a long elaborate ploy to convince my travel buddy to buy a pizza oven currently...
  14. I take this as conceded freezing your tits off is unenjoyable 😄. I mean, the way i've written it, bring on 4am in 10 weeks time I say!!
  15. I told you it was controversial 😄 I love wandering round the site at 7am. It's so quiet, but theres still pockets of something going on. You can see almost everyone is taking a couple of hours sleep before watching the site wake up again. It's definitely worth trying at least once!
  16. omg please send a screenshot - am literally sat here setting up our notion when i read this during a break. The only thing more fun than a festival is planning for it...

    Bristol coach

If you're in Bristol and not travelling all the way there specifically for the coach, you could also get the coach, get your ticket and get sorted then leave the festival again, returning the next day. You can get a shuttle to Castle Cary, or head to Bath and West and navigate a way back.
  18. My most controversial take is its better to go to bed early, fall asleep to the blissful sound of late night festival, and get up for sunrise at the Stone Circle. Much much better than fighting sleep, freezing your tits off having your ear chewed off by a random new friend high on a lot of things other than life and trudging back to your tent to then wake up an hour later cause its too warm to sleep. I held this opinion also at 18, I just lacked the confidence to live my truth 😄
  19. That's Birmingham City Uni - BCU. UoB has been around since 1900. They'd be ever so sniffy if they saw this 😄
  20. That's QUITE OK! Only looking out for us after all 🤣
  21. Yeah, but that's for Glastonbury not Boomtown 😄 You got my hopes up there mate, I thought someone had a ticket for me already haha
  22. What it says on the tin! Sold out of camper tickets - if you have one going spare, pls let me know! I'll take it off your hands!
  23. That sealed it for me! Can't see you making it to Castle Cary by 11 from the first train from Brussels or Paris either! I can't think of a former poly that offers PPE either... lovely story mind.
  24. Ours was converted for us but by now I think I've replaced everything and redone it all! Repainted our chalkboard bonnet and boot this weekend. Did a deep clean and washed all the fabrics. Going through the van tomorrow looking for any internal jobs, and touch wood (well MDF) that bit will be ready!.
  25. Great news! They're awkward moves in the lithest of times. Confident a bit of festival spirit will spur you on even more come June. I bought a reduced Rumpl blanket that I have been eyeing up for months because I absolutely need it as a priority, and am just making a playlist of announced bands ready for some clashfinder times in a few weeks.
