  1. There was sound clashing if you're outside but if they've moved other stages around, this might change things. Not sure how soon to get in, but they seem to have 30 minutes between each act which should help.
  2. It serves hot drinks and cakes. Tricketts bar is about 50 yards away for booze.
  3. You can only swap it to another member of the original ticket group that was used to pay for the deposits, and that person can be in the van with someone else driving. If you can't find a ticketed driver, there's no point in swapping it.

I've got it sorted, went out last night dancing in the rain.
  5. I use the route similar to what Parsonjack suggests. Good point @pilton digger, I've spent time trying to work out how to avoid at zone in a CV. For those vehicles, the Private HGV class can apply for a £9 cost, or I'm thinking M4 A46 A363 variety of roads to A36 A361. The cost otherwise seems to be £100?? There's a toll bridge on the outskirts of Bath (Mill Lane?) allowing a tortuous route up to the M4.
  6. You create a free account with Zapier, and create a "zap" between Twitter and SMS that will send a text whenever a Twitter notification is made, which involves giving your number and Twitter account details. Think that's best done on a laptop as I can't see the functionality on my phone. Then, and here is where I can't fully remember specifics, you set up your notification about (not so) SecretGlasto tweets within Twitter. The 2 separate actions are recognised by Zapier who picks up that you've been notified in Twitter and then sends you a text with those contents. Let my thanks go on record to the SecretGlasto crew who do this work each year. My cousin enjoyed the Libertines gig last time.
  7. Finishing packing the van, picking my cousin up and heading down to Dorset for prinks, one week tomorrow for the fields. Somewhat giddy.
  8. You should book something as I found all the slots were taken. You go round the tents to see what treatment is being offered. The tents give privacy for massages, or the head and shoulder ones can be outside. I'll be checking my clashfinder for space and then booking it on the Wednesday. There are also things to do and make in the Craft Fields, like spoon carving, pottery, rings etc., some of which is bookable. I find Green Futures a chilled place to be too.
  9. If you all have what3words or can share locations on maps, and they give you the field number, that makes it easy to find them. You'll also get a small paper "pass out" each time you exit the festival - keep that to hand back in on re-entry, along with showing tickets and wristbands.
  10. So, I can put my lemon flavour tablets in gin? I was going to take them in the morning, but night time seems much better, ta.

Does Melvin Benn work for MF or Festival Republic? He's back now, so I'm wondering if he's tightening up things like this across the festival. I don't need things to be static, just not tied down and overtly commercialised.

My comment was just about Avalon. Yes, the catering's changed, how much music is going to be on, I'm assuming this is also coming out of helping to make up the losses over the past 2 years that I've read about, rather than future ongoing reductions although I've nothing to quote here.

I've heard it's part of site cutbacks on Wednesday and Thursday, that's most affecting the smaller sites.
  14. If they have official ID with a photo, that should be enough, worst case. I've never had to produce any address details, or additional photo during any inspection.
  15. The Crows Nest do cakes and hot drinks at the top of the Park Hill.
  16. Can we crowdshare for a Google 360° head camera for your runs?
  17. Caveat, I've never met anyone to exchange small humans. I'd not be keen on walking up that long winding uphill lane back up to the entry gate, can the exchange be done at gate B? There's a road up from the Tony Benn tower up there. There is a designated drop off / pick up point, (https://glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/information/getting-here/2592-2/) but it's off to the East and goes to Gate A. You'd have more to see with the kids if you went to Gate A to handover to a relative who can take them off the pick up point where someone can drive to collect them?
  18. You'll swap your paper ticket for the sticker, just before the inspection field, I think. This method is probably an extra step against ticket touting as there are checks against the name/photo on the festival ticket. You'll also get a small paper chit each time you leave gate C which you must hand back in on re entry, when they inspect your ticket and wristband otherwise it's a pain to get back in.
  19. The end point is under the postcode BA4 6TA, and Google maps shows 3 routes from Redhill. I'd take the top route coming past Frome and Shepton Mallet as I know those roads from earlier journeys. I try to minimise plastic, but to save you money, Aldi do 5L of water for 99p which will give you the containers to fill up, and store drinking water too. If you do have glass bottles, you can buy the smaller water bottles to decant any alcohol. Security checks are to remove bottles etc from going into the fields. You should be OK with the rest of the contents, and explain that it's part of the rental vehicle and won't be used. My van has glass and mugs, and we've never had an issue. Last thing, take a clear plastic sheet or cling film, and stick your CV field sticker on this and then place in your window. That way, you're not having to peel it off when you return your vehicle, and you have a souvenir.

It's cloudy today, seems ideal to treat the decking just in time for the r@in to start.
  21. I remember the main merch stall was by the Other Stage. You're more likely to see artists at the West Holts stage after each appearance as some go sign their records/CDs.
  22. I failed abysmally at prepping to handover work in 2019, and was working till the last minute. That isn't happening this time.
  23. I am hoping to have a wristband on, tears in my eyes, wandering up slowly to the Park to put the cooler box in the lockups as that's the main area for me this time. Then, a wider wander and meet up with friends again.
  24. Any carbonated bottle will be suitable for either carbonation or not splitting/leaking, and the storage isn't long term. I've got a van, so got some BPA etc free containers for longer term lightweight storage over the holidays.

Hmmm, I'm wondering with the brief showers today, whether doing some DIY drilling outside might be a little too tempting for the weather gods....
