Perhaps you could start by calling taxi firms to see if they want to take such a long trip. Taxis outside of the Festival week around here are patchy at best, don't turn up at worst. There is a rank but they will be short trips, fast turn around, maximum profit. You may find that on that particular day, no one is interested. If you are lucky and find someone, arrange a pickup location with them as they will know where they can and can't stop.

we run on the farm all year round and even when it is feckin it down in January, the tracks stay hard as Chuck Norris. There is so much hardcore put down, a process that was continuing throughout May and June, that the tracks are solid. Off track Quark is right that top slop happens but it would take a serious amount of wet to change anything. And that won't happen. Agree. Just picked up a pair of Meindl goretex waterproof boots for 50 quid. Grade 1 so lightly used but soft as slippers. Some nice German did the breaking in for me. Alternatively, the boss picked up a pair of waterproof Magnums for 70 quid new. Part fabric so light as. No real breaking in required.
