to be honest, it is a long time since trail shoes were needed on the farm. It is rock hard on the tracks in pretty much all weathers, the amount of chippings and hardcore put down between festivals has taken the splash out of it. I quite like the mud and soft surface when running, now it is effectively running on roads apart from random potholes. what appears on the webcam is a bit of surface damp and nothing more. You are more likely to get shite splashed up your legs at the moment from leaky pipes and run off, lots of slurry and muck spreading going on.

We have seen nothing that needs hiding. Bit of digging, cable work, general prep but nothing out of the ordinary.
  3. Son number 1 worked at the cider mill seasonally for a few years. This was pre-Showerings but not much seems to have changed. They make the concentrate and stick it in jaggy great tanks. Those tanks provided the concentrate for Magners, Strongbow and others. All the same stuff. I would be willing to bet a small amount of vegetables that Brothers and Mallets are pretty similar...... And frankly a bit shit.

Scaf is gone, roof redone, jackdaws evicted from chimneys, repointed outside. Inside the skittle alley has gone along with a wall to make a restaurant area, interior gutted and being redone. Flat upstairs redone and they intend to put an air b&b up there. The bar will be in the same place but everything else will be redone. Will be fab, just need it back open.

Spoke to the guv and he said it is not likely to be open until june unfortunately. They are doing a huge renovation and keep uncovering problems. They want to do it right and do it once so it will take longer.

it is likely to be some ego-on-a-stick from the Royal Air Farce, we get a lot of them when a major exercise is on starting the run in to the Plain.

I can confirm Pilton appears to be in focus today.
  8. Small sacrifice made, went for a run in the not dry. It is very not dry but no compromises were made or required.
  9. Ok. Saw Yard Act on Monday who were excellent. Support was Baba Ali. He was pretty good as well. Rolo Tomassi on Weds were outstanding. Their support were Heriot (very good) and Pupil Slicer who were good but only that.
  10. The pub itself had a huge refurb over lockdown and it is great.
  11. We did have someone rejected for village tickets and found out from GFL that 25 people were registered at his house that he didn't know about. GFL do keep an eye on this, they sorted it out eventually.
  12. Some years they all get a slot, some years not. Depends on how good they are, whether any of the bookers there want them, or whether Michael says so. It's always a bit random.
  13. Glastonbury festivals Ltd don't run Pilton Party. May be asking the wrong people.
  14. The Lion at West Pennard was good the other week, newly refurbished. Rainbows End in Glastonbury for daytime veggie goodness. The pub at Ditcheat (Manor House) Mendip Inn just North of Shepton Red Brick Building at Glastonbury Thai Elephant in Street The Sheppey near Godney
  15. It doesn't say they are the owner, says they have taken it on.
  16. I think it is, but I don't know 100% for sure. And no, not giving names.
  17. the beer choice has improved as well, some hipster crap tasting of feckin fruit and some decent cask. All round good drinks choice now. They stay open until the weather stops being OK, then close for full inside refurb.
  18. yes, it is in the garden, open at the front. They have built that, a children's castle. put a pizza air steam in the garden corner, covered area with tables, built a smoker for barbie food, removed hedges and generally vastly improved the garden area. The inside is closed until after the refurb. previous tenants relied on the owner to spend money on the place but he chose not to. The new owner has the money to finally sort the place out.
  19. and the pub has been closed during the Festival for years, they are paid to close to remove incentives for the punters to go into the village.
  20. there are no pictures of the inside, all of that is in the garden.
