  1. At least we know that all the kids are playing nicely together in their special place. We know where they are in the very unlikely event that we need someone to make shit up with crayons. Sort of an efest train spotting equivalent, all tartan flask and tupperware.
  2. Said in Blowers voice I hope. There will definitely be turn.
  3. It didn't rain for long. Grass is wet, ground still Chuck. Barely a dust settler.
  4. As it looks like a Metcheck thing, they probably make it up. In reality there is a calculation of windspeed that lops a bit off the temp per knot. It is usually done as bare dry skin not what is feels like inside your skiddies.
  5. No need. It will be ok. Ignore the other thread.
  6. Is has been said from site that they have closed a lot of the previous routes in. Various security companies sacked, pubs known to be locations used are no longer in the game, entry and wristbands tightened. There are also a number of old entry methods been located and shut down. Beware of promises, they are unlikely to work this year.
  7. (aside from the fact I think the weather thread is all balls and sensationalist tripe) I tend to go with the BBC forecast for Pilton which is usually accurate, we may get some light rain, we may not. The site is dry dry dry, they are spraying the tracks to keep the dust down but it has limited short term effect. Any rain will be likely to make the top damp and will soon feck off. I dug a hole yesterday in the garden and the soil was dry granules for 18 inches down. The 2016 downpour was exceptional, I don't expect any downpours this weekend. That doesn't stop drama queening alles uber the platz. Whatever happens there will be weather. The sentiment has to be as always, deal with it.
  8. it is notable that the Whitelake river is so low at the East end of the site where it crosses Cockmill Lane that I can walk across the ford without getting wet feet. Never managed that before. it is drier than a dry thing in dry town on dry Tuesday.
  9. Having just looked when running past i can confirm that the signposted entrances to east and quiet are directly opposite each other, either side of pylle road.
  10. as far as I remember from when I ran past it on Monday, the entrances are pretty close together, possibly opposite. You would probably have to commit by turning off the road into whichever field you wanted. They are unlikely to let you turn around, there is a one way system in place on Blue Route and there will be traffic behind you all they way back.
  11. The badfge we are using is of a similar vintage
  12. You could "cheekily ignore" tbe signs but then you would be a bell end, much like the others bell ends who think its clever. The closures are there to allow the area to keep functioning and every time some complete knob in a too big camper gets wedged after moving a road closed sign. Please use the fecking designated routes.
  13. I avoid Bath as the traffic is always dog eggs. That Toll Bridge is a bit busy now the zone is in play. From the North I would either bite the bullet and go through Bristol (either straight past Temple Meads or St Phillips Marsh way) and down the A37, or go M5 / A39. If coming from East down the M4, get off at Chippenham and go cross country Westbury/ Trowbridge to Frome and in the A361 to Shepton.
  14. My van isn't exempt at 259,000 miles and 2003 reg. Not everyone drives cars.
  15. Does that involve the congestion charging zone in Bath? If it does it may be good to warn people, we can't all drive posh exempt cars.
  16. No, but Rodger is probably suspect.
  17. Shepton will be busy, it is traditional for people to fill Tesco car park and generally annoy the living shit out of anyone trying to get on with life. Depending on where your accommodation is will dictate how easy it is to get to and out of. The A37 is likely to be busy but not impossible, again depends on whee you are coming from and aiming for. The chippy is OK but not outstanding, chips are a bit undercooked for my liking. There are usually better fish and chips in pubs. If you say where you are staying I can let you know where to avoid (Shepton is a bit of a shithole in places)
  18. How Feckin Hot - e.g. what is it like in your fetid tent at that time of the day. Hence the black crap tent thing.
  19. i did use the voice to myself when typing that
  20. why? no correlation or effect. About as useful as comparing Pilton to Yeovilton.
