Bell Tent

Has anybody booked a bell tent or similar for this years festival? Need a bit of advice.

I had a 4 person Bell Tent last year.....

They really aren't as luxurious as they make out. However they are worth it for the easiness and space you have not just inside but around your tent.

Wanting to book two x 6 man ones but the website isn't playing ball

Decent space & agree, not exactly luxurious. A roll of cheap carpet on the floor & is also quite dark, even with the solar light.

 

I've booked the Octopad for this year but price up £100 from last year which takes the piss.

Taking the piss with the 6 man option as well, only have a few so they can advertise at 24 quid a night per person. Sold out in less than 48 hours??? Only 4 and 2 man available at a higher per person rate...whatever!

The field with the premium camping in looked much bigger last year than in previous, its obviously big business for them.

I've booked a bell tent as I stupidly forgot to buy my tickets as soon as they went on sale as I've done in previous years, last July or whenever. All the Emperors Fields tickets had long since sold out and I couldn't persuade wifey to camp on the main field.

I am looking at the Octopad.  Just trying to make life as easy as possible with having the 2 kids. £995 is a stupid amount of money, but if it is going to make the weekend more enjoyable for the kids then I am going to do it.

Or do you think the family camping will be calm enough (aside from me having to lump all of their crap from the car)

Depends how old your kids are...it's a bit of a walk for younger children from the car park to the general camping areas (I'm not talking Glastonbury sized distances though).

If you've already got a family sized tent Emperors Field would have been ideal as it's really family orientated and a mere hip from your parking location...you just need to find tickets (keep your eyes open as the odd one or two do become available on here and also the official facebook page...you might have to buy two or three different times).

Kids will be 5 and 9.  Having done the walk to the campsites at Leeds and Download, that is my biggest concern.  

Think I might just go with the Octopad and be done with it. Then I can spend 6 months whinging about how much it cost haha
